BMIbaby compensation

After submitting a claim for flight refund and 4 extra nights hotel accomodation, flight refund made 30th April for return flight from Prague to East Midlands but heard nothing else not even an acknowledgement!
Send further letter with details of rail journey back to East Midlands £900 for the 2 of us -still no acknowledgement or any sign of costs back.
If we have valid receipts surely they have to comply with legislation?
Any ideas?

you may need to contact your insurance (or hope Cityboy appears) from reading the other posts it seems that they do indeed have a responsibility to rebook/reroute you for another date plus look after you (accom and food) until that date OR you can chose a refund...not sure you will get both, there are a few people on here that took the refund to find that that is the end of the airlines responsibility

it will take time, EU says to give them 6 weeks to answer, some airlines arent really answering passengers at the moment but more stringing them on until the EU makes an annoucement at the end of June. Have a look at the volcano forum, plenty answers there.

Some airlines still havent refunded passengers for tickets not used and are saying 4 to 6 weeks just for refunds

As the legislation is under EU law, under the jurisdiction of which court would you make you claim? I am guessing the EU court - but how?

Thanks Cityboy, I will bear that in mind when it comes round to them eventually reading and responsing my I mail sent 42 days ago! Apparently they are still reading and digesting mail received on the 23rd and 24th April!!!

The telephone number which I highlighted in post #13 no longer works - it is unobtainable. When I rang the regular bmibaby number and selected the option for Customer Services, the message says that this department only deals with written communications!

Hi, just phoned the 'help' line at BMI and spoke to someone called Roger and they are now opening mail received on the 25th April.!!!:rotfl: Did no-one at BMI wonder what the ever growing pile of envelopes on their doormat was for the first month of the crisis?

Has ANYONE received any sort of response yet? Please help!

What number did you call to speak to "Roger" as every number I try merely tells me that they only deal with written correspondence. They have ignored both the registered letters I have sent so far.

I refused to ring the premium rate 0905 number, as they also advertise a number for overseas callers which is 0845 8101100. Ring this one - don't choose the option for customer relations (as that's what they want you to do) - choose any of the other options (I chose schedule changes) and you can speak to a human.

Thanks Glendo excellent advice di get to speak to a living breathing idividual and have been promised a payment next week not sure if it is claim in full or just flight money back will keep you posted.
