Unless children have had a accident in their bed, why does their bedding need changing more than once a week?

I would say for 2 adults and a toddler, i do about 5/6 washes plus bedding every 7 to 10 days.

Towels are washed after 2 to 3 uses. DH work clothes daily (manual work). DS2 clothes daily (grubby little fella) My clothes last a couple of washes, and i have clothes i would never leave the house in that may last longer. My husband has clothes he wears in the house in the evening for a few hours before bed they last 3 to 4 days too. Socks and pants daily.

I wash everything after each use except bedding which gets done once a week. I smoke though and 10yo dd is a dirt-magnet. I make up for it by ironing nothing!
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Undies, shirts, blouses, T-shirts, socks, tea towels daily. trousers/skirts two-three wearings hopefully. Towels probably changed midweek, bedding changed weekly. Probably 4 loads for the two of us.

I used to laugh at my Grandmother, she would never have a washing machine as they " washed holes into your clothes" Judging by the amount of washing some of you do I reckon she may well be right!!!!!!!

For goodness sake get a life, there are two of us and I do 3-4 loads a week. I do iron most things and certainly change underwear daily, but bedding every other day why??

Come and have a sniff of Oh and me we dont smell I can assure you and I have time to do allsorts of things instead of washing all day.

Bedding gets done weekly, towels last two or three days. Clothes generally get two to three days wear then go in the washpile. However underwear and socks only get one wear and are put in the laundry bin immediately after being taken off.

In an attempt to cut down on half loads I purchased lots and lots of teatowels, dishclothes, towels, pairs of socks and underwear so that I can do a full load all at once and still have a clean supply available. I live on my own, and hope that this doesn't make me sound too batty, lol.

My washing machine runs usually four times in a week - bed linen, clothes and underwear etc gets done at the weekend, while towels, tea towels, dish clothes and nighties get done at some point during the week.

The OP was perfectly polite so why be rude to her?

Didnt intend to be rude to OP, apologies if I was. I was trying to let her see that perhaps she could ease up on the washing and do other things instead and nobody would think any less of her.

There is no need to wash clothes after every wear, kids might need it but adult clothes dont unless you are sweaty.

I do my sheets once a week. i invested in Black towels that don't show dirt and I wash these about once a week or earlier if smelly. It helps to always hang towels after use, that reduces the potential for them to smell.

My knickers, socks and bras are all handwashed after each use, this makes them last longer. The washing machine mangles them and nice underwear is my luxury.
