to remove an app, hold your finger over it until the phone vibrates slightly and it is highlighted then drag it to the bottom of the screen where it says 'remove'.
To zoom in euther tap the screen twice in quick succession or use your thumb and forefinger to 'pinch' the screen.

It's worth having a look at it as it explains most things pretty well. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
The apps that are already installed, you can't seem to remove at all. Which is annoying as theres a lot of game demo's. Then I had an idea of dumping them all in a folder, but you can only make a folder on your homescreen rather than menu.
Out of everything, that is the most annoying thing on the phone. Everything else is great!0 -

Are you on Orange by any chance? I've read that they've stuck a load of !!!!!! demos on that you can't delete. Have you tried installing Astro file manager and deleting them from there?0 -
Yes, it's not HTC who've done this it's your network. I got mine on T Mobile and there were nio crappy demos or branding on it.
It is possible to put the generic HTC ROM on it if you want which will get rid of the crap but there is a slight risk you'll brick your phone. It's my problem, it's my problem

Opera Mini is good but there is a BIG issue that everyone who uses it needs to be aware of.
They proxy websites through their own server in order to bolster performance by caching their "minified" versions of the sites.
This is an issue since they intercept SSL encrypted streams and decrypt them - so do not use it on any site that you require to be encrypted. i.e. banking sites, paypal, ebay and the like.
Find mor information from the Opera FAQ here http://www.opera.com/mobile/help/faq/#security
In particular the question, "Is there any end-to-end security between my handset and — for example — paypal.com or my bank?"0 -

Ive Tried doing what you said about dragging the App icon to bottom of screen and then dumping it in Remove but its not doing it as the remove goes to red but it dont get rid of it.
I have a unlocked phone.
Also one other thing that i need help with is i have gmail set up on my e mail on my phone but for some reason when i delete a e mail when im on my laptop it does not delete it on my e mails on my phone which it did do with the HTC Touch that i used to have.
So i have to do both delete from my laptop then delete from phone which i never needed to do with other phone.
Any ideas please?0 -
To delete an app on the Desire you have to go to the Market then click on Downloads which brings up the apps you have installed then click the app and you get the choice to Unistall.
This removes the app from the phone entirely, dragging it to the Remove box only removes the icon on the screen.0
