Morning, everyone. It's a lovely day here, and apart from a bit of a rough night's sleep I'm not in too bad spirits. First thing, I put the slow cooker on with my sweet potato and pepper sauce-thing and that is making the house smell a lot nicer than it did. I might light a coconut-scented candle and it's going to smell lush. :) Then, I played a little on the games console and then made a cup of tea, put the recorded Total Wipeout on tv and am relaxing happily now. As for the rest of the day, I'm going to make a curry for tea and maybe do some Pilates. Also featured: a nice hot bath and a good film :D

I think I might have a go at making some gnocchi for the freezer. With some of the sauce, it'll be great. I'm trying to come up with a list of things I can make from storecupboard stuff so we've got tasty stuff in.

I hope everyone has a lovely day - sorry to hear about the bunny - it's never nice (((hugs))) Take care

    Kitchenbunny xx

Morning everyone - big hugs and positive thought to everyone in need of them.
I'm enjoying a day off - we get extra days off as TOIL for mentoring. I'm enjoying the break even more, seeing as I met 46 sets of parents/students at Y7 parents' evening last night. It was really positive, if tiring.Left the house at 7am, got back 9.30pm.
I've got a hair appointment later, as well as returning library stuff. In the meantime I have completed
    washing (4 loads)
-Cooked a proper brekkie for DH and made his sarnies (seeing as he's stuck at the salt mines and I'm not!)
-Grabbed 80 free downloads from emusic (and then cancelled my account)
    -Updated my podcast list.
We've got a friend coming over tomorrow for a couple of days, which will be great - I was able to send her an unused half of a London train ticket, whihc will cut down her costs a bit ( more wine money for Saturday night!)
I've got to head out soon, and am wondering if I can win a game of rain roulettte, as there's two fully laden clothes horses in the garden which could really do with being outside. There's more sun than clouds right now, so I think I'll give it go.
Hope everyone has a good BH weekend, whatever you get up to.

    Ladygrim....hope that to-day hasn't been too bad....hugs.

    tru.....hugs

Cranky....lovely photo...is Pixel all grey....our Sile is and I think that it is lovely.

Made chilli beef this morning for dinner when the gang (all 3 of them!) from Cork arrive, which could be any minute...cooked a chicken fillet in prosciutto for DGD2 as she doesn't like 'spicy things' and chilli is a lot spicier than I meant it to be...made a cheese and onion loaf to go with it and have done some rice as well so everybody should be well fed....they are not really pudding people so not bothered with anything, although I did make some brownies and a lemon sponge.

Hugs to all in need or want

I am not happy today again. Spent £110.75 at the garage, and OH has just called to say the car appears to be worse than it was before. When I took it I told them what I thought was the problem, they test drove it and said they were 99% sure I was right, but it could be the back rather than the front, and if it turned out to be the case, they wouldn't redo the work. I agreed with this, but I don't expect the bloody thing to be worse. OH is halfway to Edinburgh and now I'm worried sick. I could do with some positive vibes that he gets there OK.

Glad you are managing to take some food. Don't get dehydrated whatever you do.

Sorry to hear about your pet rabbit.

Just heard from the buyer (we hope) of our house and she needs to complete by the 21st of this month so we need to be packed and out in less than three weeks:eek: and :j at the same time IYKWIM. Have been spending ages on Rightmove looking at places to buy or rent.

No suitable four bed houses to rent here (a year ago there were at least half a dozen). Persuaded DH to ask someone we know slightly and whose house is up for sale (but not rent) if we could rent that for a few months.

We find out at the weekend if they can do this on a private basis so fingers and toes crossed.

Made marinated chicken, roast veg and new potatoes for tea and invited a friend of DD(16) for tea.

DH got me to admit the dishwasher was kaput so has taken it to the tip and got rid of it. He is trying to be really organised (I hate that word) and already packing anything not nailed down into cardboard boxes.

DD(24) is coming home for a couple of weeks and DH wants her to get intensive driving practise so has put her on our car insurance so she can get lots of driving experience behind her belt.

If I go missing DH will probaby have packed me by mistake!;)

Hug to everyone especially Ladygrim and pennypincher.

Latest udate - he has about eight miles to go, and would normally have been there half an hour ago but is driving so slowly as it is making an horrendous noise. I've told him just to be careful, and he'll need to phone the AA when he's done at four in the morning to bring him home! Really worried how much this will cost, and we'll need to hire a car whilst it's being repaired - and it's the holiday weekend! Aargh!

thanks for your good wishes, ladies!
