I dunno. Why you asking me? I never mentioned the airport being closed, and neither does the article I linked to!
Then I dont know why you were quoting me as my response was to the suggestion that the airport would be closed and was correct that tourists were being moved to Phukett.....in which case I have no idea what point you were trying to make.0 -

Quentin didn't say anything about the airport closing it was someone else from the boards.0 -

I made no mention of the airport at all!
And as far as tourists being moved (rather than evacuated), this is all covered in the article. (The tourists being moved are from Germany!)On the TUI website in Germany a similar statement identified the need to evacuate clients from Bangkok giving them an option to transfer immediately to Phuket or return home.0 -
Yessss, but that goes to show how divided the advice is on this, one of my intentions of posting the link in the first place and my post regarding the airport was in response to another poster not your good self, we digress, apologies for any confusion.0

No probs (you caused all this by quoting me when asking your questions, then biting back at me when I replied - and you keep referring to your posting the link in the first place?????).0

Mt 24 year old daughter flew out to Bangkok on 28.4.10 and passed through the city on the way to Kachapurna. She returned to Bangkok this afternoon. She is staying near the Ko san road this evening with her tour party of 13 others. Just spoke to her and she said all she saw was a few policeman. Her party are off on a tour for 10 days tommorow returning to Bangkok on 10th then heading off for a few more days. The only trouble she had so far was with a drunk on the flight from Bahrein. I think the whole dont go thing is a bit like the Volcanic Ash cloud.0

I am not sure where Koh Chang is. She was in Bangkok yesterday to meet her touring party. They stayed at the Royal near the Kow San Road. She is on a 18 day tour of Northern Thailand with 13 others arranged through Gap Adventures. She e-mailed this morning to say she has seen some protestors but they were all smiling and peaceful. She has now left Bangkok for Chaing Mai.0
