A great bargain which originally cost me the equivalent of 52p to start with. £70 of pigsback vouchers, paid £5 cash but got £4.48 back in boots points oh and a £5 skin care voucher which makes me £4.48 in profit when i think about it at the original purchase.

I tried it yesterday - after lugging the whole heavy lot back to the shop the SA went to ask the Manager, who flat refused! I left feeling very embaressed for having asked.

However, having slept on it, I now wonder why he refused. If I had just asked for a refund, I presume they would have done it. The goods would then have been sitting there - could they have refused to re-sell them to me? I don't know my rights on this.

I have just called head office and they are confirming that I should be able to refund the 74.99 X-box bundle and re-buy it at £10. The lovely girl on the phone told me to get them to give HO a call if there are any problems.

I'm off back into town now with the heavy bundle! - Wish me Luck!

An earlier post says that it's at the manager's discretion, but I know of a couple of people who've been made to feel really embarrassed, and been refused. A friend of my daughter had already said she wanted to return it, and had a real fight to allow her to keep it at all!

Boots clearly didn't think through what would happen if they reduced stuff to a tenner...it seems an odd commercial decision, as it would all have flown off the shelves at £25.

I'm pleased for all the posters who managed to refund and re-buy, and think they must have met unusually helpful staff.

Just been to my local Boots and they've got at least a dozen ipods including nanos, and the 30GB ones plus a couple of docking stations (allin shrink wrapped plastic)

They are locked in the cabinets and have the normal price stickers in front of them

Is there any chance these are reduced or will I embarrass myself when I ask them to check the price?

1GB shuffles have been reduced, We saw loads of iPods in a big store near us but they were all normal price ... we did ask:D
