Daughter's Disabled Blue Badge Stolen

Can't believe how low some scumbags will stoop!

Had side window of car smashed in yesterday, and Daughter's Blue Badge stolen from dash-board. They didn't touch anything else. Desperately need it, as she is an in-patient at hospital at mom, and without it we have to pay £42 per day to park!!! Free when blue badge displayed.

Was hoping Essex county council could speed things up and simply re-issue another one, but oh no, we have to re-fill out some new forms and send off a new photo. Can't see all that happening very quickly!

Anyone know of a quicker way?

So you are illegally using your daughters blue badge to park for free?

You are scum and deserve to get caught and have your car clamped yet you have the nerve to call the theives scumbags!

Each council does these separately but... when I needed a replacement I got exactly the same response as you did. I gathered everything together, took it in by taxi (cheaper than parking!) and then rang again asking to speak to a manager. She was very understanding and processed it herself. Can't promise but it might be worth ringing back and asking.

Have you read the OP and do you know who is entitled to use someone elses blue badge, and heres a clue, his daughter is in hospital but hes illegally using her badge to get free parking and probably using a blue badge spot taking it from someone whos disabled!

read the OP, hes using it to park free.

Actually, the OP does sound a bit dodgy. The daughter whose badge it is, is currently an in-patient ie does not require the use of the car. The parents, who are not disabled, are using a badge that does not belong to them in order to park for free - albeit to visit their daughter. I'm not sure that this is legal.

Rather harsh but the OP really shouldn't be using it in this way.

  • For your information, my daughter is allowed out on day release at times, so we need the car there to get her out and about. The hospital is in the middle of london, and public transport is not an option.
