    My question wouls be.

Surely now that Samsung know they HAD a problem they will have doubled their efforts to manufacture a machine that will be free of defects at a price designed to recapture market share?

    Or is that too easy?
Lol, that would be too easy!

I've taken the plunge and found one on eBay with a scratch on the door for virtually half price! It was the Whirlpool one that most places listed for £800-1000 and we got for £489 :j

Will let you know how it goes! We have seen one in the flesh, so it's not a blind purchase at least, we can just pray it's in good condition apart from the scratch (which we'll cover with one of the kids pictures from nursery!).

Can I just recommend the eBay company that is organising this delivery.

    http://www.elekdirect.co.uk/

We got a phone call within minutes of confirmation of the sale, we then got another call to confirm the delivery time and date. They will call us 1hour before delivery to allow me to get home from work to receive it, and they've organised a quicker than usual delivery due to the fact ours is currently in less than working order!

As long as this turns up as described, I will be more than satisfied with this transaction. The price of this unit against the retail prices (listed on eBay at £569, but accepted best offer £489 even when retail is around £1000 ona few sites!), along with the service received before delivery, I would happily recommend them...

  • Avoid Maytag like the Plague. After sales is non existent and ours (sovereign) packed in after 3 years. It needed a new control board £210.99 but they farm you out to third party agency repairers who in my case dont use Maytag parts and take a month to get them ,all for £150 call out plus parts. If only Dyson did Fridge Freezers....
