I'm a pro photographer and I'd say both Blurb and Kodak beat Photobox in terms of quality and layout options.
Kodak is especially great for their no quibble returns policy. (i had three large format wedding books printed by them recently and when i got them I noticed I had made a mistake in the choice of one of the images,a bit too light, they replaced the books within a week !).0 -

But Photobox is beating everyone at the moment , in terms of price0 -

I haven't used Kodak and I agree that Blurb's BookSmart gives you more control and a lot more features than Photobox does. Their covers and binding is far superior too. However I do think that in terms of print quality Photobox is much better. Photobox's standard pages are comaparable to Blurb's premium pages. Blurb wins on price too so I only use Photobox when there are offers on.0 -
Thanlsfor the photbook tips, ill have a look at blurb in future, ive given up on photobox, wont let me do anything, it wont even let me order my holiday snaps, keeps freezing, although i have eventually managed to upload them all.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
I have also found myphotobook.co.uk do a good book - print on the front cover, back cover and spine as well.
Their software is easy to use and you can choose layouts or make your own (even overlapping images and setting image transparency).
Not tried blurb or bobsbooks yet but they are on my list.0 -
Having trouble with my pictures. I can get them uploaded onto and start putting them on the pages where I want but after 15minutes of so it tell me there's a problem with the images and deletes them all. Why??0

Mine arrived today - the cover is great quality but the pictures are rather grainy - despite the software telling me that they were ok.
It's really not worth £23.99 but very good for £3.99!0 -

If it helps, this is the way I found was best to do it:
I registered for the offer, checked that it was in my account then uploaded the photos before I made the album. Trying to upload more than one photo at once seemed to make it freeze so I used either easy upload or fast upload, but only 1 photo at a time. Annoying, but it worked. Even using this method it did freeze, but I just refreshed and started again. ONly had to redo 1 photo if it froze as the others are safe.
Once I had all my photos uploaded - then I made the photobook. I used the option of already having the photos. It's quite easy to just drag & drop once they are already uploaded.
Hope this helps0 -
I have had loads of cheap photo gift offers over the years but have NEVER had the hassle I have had with this one. I've wasted hours with frozen screens etc. What is it with Photobox ??0
