Hi,

A few questions for anyone who has ordered this previously as I missed the deal last time but keen to clinch it this time.

* Has anyone upgraded to the Premium quality paper (+ £2.99) ? - Is it worth the extra?

* Has anyone upgraded to the Deluxe gift sleeve* (+ £4.99) ? - Is it worth the extra?

* Where does the logo appear / how large / what colour? I am assuming it is a 'photobox' logo - There is the option to remove the logo for £2.00 but not sure if this is necessary.

* It says design your book with 26 to 100 pages - Can you choose the number of pages with the free version or is that just if you pay for it normally?

* Can you have the images in any shape and size on the pages and vary it as you wish?

Sorry for all the questions but would really value the feedback from those who have used this before.

Many thanks.
I have not received my book yet to answer the first few questions, however I did manage to change the page layout and photosize. You click on layouts on the bottom left and it shows different page layouts on the bottom of the page. You just click on the drop down box for the pages (underneath album), click on the page and then you can go in and change photos by dragging photos from the top bar of photos onto the book page, position them as you want with the mouse and choose a different layout/page design or size by clicking on the designs underneath where the booklet shows ( I clicked on a few different ones for different photos to see which was best). I think you would have to pay extra for any pages above the 26 pages, at the side there is an option to add more pages up to a max of £100.

If like me you had some old photos that are not in digital form then you will have to scan them using a scanner and save them in the jpg format.

But make sure that you scan the pictures at a high enough resolution (dpi, dots per inch) so the quality is O.K.

The photobox logo is just their name (PHOTOBOX) on the last page that you can also have a small photo on as well.

I don't think it is worth paying the £2 to have it removed, unless it was for a special photobook for wedding pictures, in which case you would probably pick a better quality book anyway. There is also a bar code at the bottom alongside the Photobox logo about the same size, which I presume would remain even if you had the Photobox logo removed.

Yes you would need to scan old photos and save them to your PC, if you do not have them stored on an external source such as a data disk, memory stick etc already. If you have them backed up, you can just find this e.g. the memory stick which will be under drives and upload from this source.

* Has anyone upgraded to the Premium quality paper (+ £2.99) ? - Is it worth the extra?
I haven't upgraded but the paper on the free offer is nice enough quality, its the same semi gloss paper that is in young childrens colourful reading books.

Has anyone upgraded to the Deluxe gift sleeve* (+ £4.99) ? - Is it worth the extra?
Again the free option is a nice enough quality the finish is the same as a hardback book. You can choose the colour from a fairly good choice, last time I got one on offer they were more limited.

Where does the logo appear / how large / what colour? I am assuming it is a 'photobox' logo - There is the option to remove the logo for £2.00 but not sure if this is necessary. On the last photo page, the photobox logo is in the centre bottom of page, just over 4cm long, approx 1cm high. Also shows a barcode which might not be on there if you pay the extra. You cannot change the layout on the last page, its 10cm x 7.5cm image in the centre of the page

It says design your book with 26 to 100 pages - Can you choose the number of pages with the free version or is that just if you pay for it normally? 26 free pages, any extras come in pairs and you pay for them, the 26 is a lot though, depending on what the book is for 26 should be sufficient for holiday pics, a childs memory book, a days event etc
You can change the layout from 1 pic up to a few pics on each page, an also the position of the photos, helpful if you have a landscape photo alongside a standard photo, the options allow you to play about to fit the images in the best way suited to the pic you can also add captions under pics if you choose a layout with the caption box.

The secret to good results with these books is higher quality images, my latest book I designed for my little girl to take to nursery with family and days out photos some of the images are taken on a low resolution, they are quite grainy but for this purpose it doesn't matter. The lower quality ones look ok if set in a small image box on the page but the bigger ones I did one to a page are not so good but its fine for her to look at.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for info - I will go and give it a try. Many thanks again.
• Got mine today, really really happy with it!! I've paid £30+ for photobooks in the past, and this is just as good quality as them!! The free options (without upgrading, taking the logo off etc.) is absolutely fine, brilliant quality etc.!! x
