we nipped down today & the queues were round the block (waiting time almost 2 hours  ) there was total gridlock in the area & the other stores car parks were crammed - no parking spaces available anywhere. We went for a coffee instead and met some of the staff on their lunch break - shop is manic & they think it'll be even worse tomorrow due to Sunday trading.

Went past the shop again on the way home and the waiting time was over 1hr 30 mins and this was at 8pm (the store was meant to be closing at 9, so I don't know if they stayed open to accommodate the customers).

I know they have some good deals, but I'd need a bit more of an incentive if they want me to queue for that amount of time! Good luck to those who do wait, but I think I'll be waiting till I can shop online with them - or, of course, I may just phone John Lewis ;)

No need to get too early up today as it only opens at 1100.
(meaning you only need to join the queue there at 0900 to stand a chance.

My husband is over there now and they have told the people in the queue that there aren't any Toshiba TV's left in stock and unable to tell them whether anymore stock will be delivered today - !!!!!!!

Plenty of Toshiba 32" TVs on Ebay now! :money:

Most are, funnily enough, close to Lakeside but some have travelled quite a distance!

Yes funny that! Apparently it was limited to one per person but lots of people were taking in hundreds of family members with them......

Just to add dont call John Lewis helpline (i.e. 0845...) but call John Lewis Bluewater store @01322 624123 and order the Wii black console. If you read and call them the person will know what you are asking for and will order for £99.99/-. "

And yep its true I live in Manchester called and ordered mine today. Fingers crossed you may be able to get tomorrow too ;)

Saves even having to get out of your armchair ;) And delivery to your door FOC

Follow the guideline of advice posted by bambam. Get on the phone, and ask a store close to bestbuy to price match, then see if you can have it as a pickup from your local store or delivered FOC. Price matching is the Money savers best friend. If you state you are going to travel to thurrock to purchase the item many other retailers will then price match.
Freebies you don't really need can be given to your local Hospice Charity shop so they can raise funds they desperately need. Pass on your good fortune :A

    Went at 2pm today.

Absolutely manic. They had sold out of ALL their sale TVs. Instead they were offering 10% off any TV in store.

To be honest, it wasn't that competitively priced, the staff I spoke to didn't know anything about the TVs and just read off the labels. You couldn't see any TVs working properly as they were all on analog tv inputs and so looked terrible.

I have to say also that one TV I looked at had "100Hz" and "Internet TV" on the ticket but the TV clearly wasn't either of those things. I challenged the "blueshirt" who said you could plug an ethernet port in the back. I asked him to show me and then after failing to find the port said it was "wireless". If i'd bought it and found out it was wrong, would i have been able to get a refund? 6 of the TVs sold when I was standing there.

I didn't buy anything. Wasn't that impressed i'm afraid and after my experience I will make a point of not going back.

best buys so impressive rofl there website lists no products with prices! no click and reserve! no free 5 yr guarntees on tv like john lewis! there price match policy only covers within a 15 mile radius of a store would seem a safe way to cover the backside and not any online prices are covered either! seems like a wonderful start all run down to the stores for the opening deals if your lucky that will get the name around.

    wonderful bestbuys website www.bestbuy.co.uk

I would suggest people have a read of best buys forums first before running down like crazied savages.( http://www.bestbuy.co.uk/page/custom.aspx?PageName=Forums )
for the moment ill stick with the price comparsion sites with the model of what i want and save much more.
like pricerunner.co.uk dealtime.co.uk and googles shopping tab. i personally saved £300 total on diswasher, fridge and a freezer which is a bit more like it on products i wanted to buy not what they deemed the deal was to me.

they even do gas and electric price comparsion in association with energy helpine . com wonder how much they make on that by being in bed with them? may as well do it direct yourself and not involve them cant see them saving the est £398 they reckon you can save maybe martin has a view on them selling this product line
