I am no further on than when I started this thread. ( I did say I wasn't good with technology) so I think I will stay with Telewest and buy some ear plugs when my OH starts whingeing.
  • the LLU has to be actually with Sky (Easynet), so if its Wanadoo enabled, it doesnt mean you can get Sky broadband.

There were 2 seperate questions going on in here.
The Wanadoo came into it when I posted the samknows website so "tee pee" could tell if her exchange was Easynet enabled or not. "moneysavingme" just happened to check his/her exchange too.

  • Yep, it was my fault that i got 2 seperate questions going, i dont see why LLU should cost the same to me as normal if orange are saving some money, surely they could give me some money off the line rental or something.

no it's no one fault. it's just thickie little me. I don't get all this stuff and my usual stance therefore is to ignore it all, but I am trying to join the 21th C:rotfl:
  • Well by the looks of it, its going to cost you roughly the same (I'd of thought) or possibly about a Fiver cheaper for more (Thats without the skysports ontop)

You will need a BT line, so line rental for that is about £10

    Then your sky ontop (£15?)

No one will of changed yet, as its just a new product.

I'd also check to see which broadband package you're getting for free also.

If your house has never had a BT line in (You havent got a BT socket in your house) then it will cost £125 for them to install one.

I think the consensus is that if you switch to a low level Sky Broadband product comparable to your current Telewest package the difference in monthly cost is roughly the same because you have to pay BT line rental on top.

The cost of switching is also going to leave you out of pocket and the hassle of switching will leave you with no service for weeks.

You might be able to get additional digital TV channels from Sky and it does put you in the position of being able to switch up to the better Sky Broadband packages. For existing Sky customers where their exchange is enabled, the 16Mb broadband product is one of the best in the market at the moment.

My advice is to hang fire, NTL/Telewest are about to announce a brand new series of packages later this year which could well be better for you as an existing customer.

    Cheers
