That's great news!
I'd really like to find out if they had the 'resident' DJ. 'cos if they did- and he's not that hot- I'll know to shop around. If you happen to find out would you let me know?
That would be amazingly useful
My friend said the DJ belonged to the hotel; his name is Mike Kelly and this is his website http://www.mikedjkelly.co.uk/
Hope that's helpful!0 -
I'm a Yorkshire bride too, or I will be soon!
Venue: The Downcliffe House Hotel, Filey. Can't recommend it enough
Florist: Daisy Dot Florist 01723515556. Don't have a website but highly recommended.
Photographer: 08Photography We had our pre-shoot with them recently and were really impressed.
Also got my dress from Elizabeth of York. Very helpful lovely people.
Can't think of much else, I've done/will be doing invites and cake myself0 -
We had our Civil Partnership at the KP Club in Pocklington, just outside York on the Hull road
http://www.kpclub.co.uk/
It is a fantastic venue, beautiful surroundings, the staff were great and we're still getting compliments on the food.
We also stayed in the lodges which were beautiful.
We got our cake of cheese from The Cheese Place in Haworth (assembled by the venue)

Links updated! Thanks everybody, so far we are getting a nice list together of suppliers and shops in the local area
and it's nice to have feedback of good/negative experiences. Keep 'em coming!

Woo! Also a Yorkshire Bride!
Our venue is Weetwood Hall also, because the venue is beautiful and the staff are extrememly friendly!
Our photographer is Philip Jordan http://www.philjordan.co.uk/ (not very MSE but his photos look amazing!
My dress is from Leeds Bridal Village in Morley (off the sale rack but it is beautiful!)
Cupcakes are being provided by the Cupcake Shoppe in Ossett http://www.thecupcakeshoppe.co.uk/ (i was going to make these myself but in the end i thought it would be too stressful!)
Mens suits are from Alan Lund http://www.alanlund.com/ based in Halifax, but they come to you. So you select the suit in the comfort of you own home. Then they drop the suits off for you a few days before the wedding and come back for them a few days after the wedding! we don't have to go anywhere! woo
Erm... oh yes, flowers are being done at Carolines FLower Shop in Ossett, she is a friend of the family and is doing us a very good deal.
Music is being provided by Paul H Mason http://www.guitarra.me.uk/ he is a classical guitarist and is playing during the ceremony, drinks reception and the weddibng breakfast. He is based in Leeds and is amazing! (and very reasonable)
Can't think of anything else at the moment! Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0 -
