I'm a Yorkshire B2B, but as we haven't even set a date yet, never mind chosen & booked anything I haven't got much to offer yet!
I am currently considering:
The Pavilion Hotel, York, website doesn't do the place justice
The Churchill Hotel, York
I would like, but can't have for accessibility reasons:
Fountains Abbey
Hospitium
am excited about the strawberry tea, yum yum0 -
Hi All
I was a Yorkshire bride....
I had my photography done by Picture Proud who are based in Elsecar, I couldn't recommend them enough, not the cheapest, but you get full copywrite of all the images and also a pre wedding photo shoot at their studio.
In terms of bridal shops, I am a curvy lady and got my dress from The Big Day in Castleford, the ladies there are AMAZING and if you are a size 16 or above, it is wedding dress heaven, I never thought for one minute that I would be able to try on dresses in my size but they have over 70 dresses in stock upto a size 30!0 -
There is loads of info here

Linton is a wonderful little village with a gorgeous setting. We've eaten at The Craven Arms and I can say the food was to die for. This is great for quirky or something medievel inspired.
I try to go have a look at most of my clients.
Horsforth Golf club has been wafted under my nose for a wedding venue www.horsforthgolfclub.co.uk
For make up. Met this great lady at a wedding fair. Audrey McCartney www.myvirginvieathome.co.uk/audreylynnmccartney
great lady for covering blemishes, tattoos, birthmarks etc.0 -
Thanks everybody! I've updated the links. Keep the feedback coming... you just might help me find my florist, or someone else find the best supplier of chair covers. Or something0

I was a York(shire) bride. Here are my recommendations.
My venue. Sandburn Hall just outside York
http://www.sandburnhall.co.uk/weddings/index.html
Absolutely everyone commented on it. Stunning inside, stunning outside, great staff and fantastic food.
Wedding photographer - Jim Poyner. http://www.jimpoyner.co.uk/weddings/
What can I say? I cannot imagine a better photographer. He almost literally made the day; everything he did was perfect.
Ceilidh band - Fiddler's Wreck
http://www.fiddlerswreck.co.uk/
Just the most fun, they got everyone up dancing. Made the whole thing so memorable.
Bus company - Reliance Motor Services
No link, but they were great, good value, reliable, helpful and the driver had checked the route out before hand for hold-ups (there had been an accident) so he went a few backroads and got us to the venue on time. A star. :A
Groom party suit hire - York Hire Wear

Good quality, helpful, they made us cravats to match the bridesmaid dresses.
Have fun planning your weddings. I loved planning mine, but not as much as I loved being a bride :Dand now love being a wife:happyhear

Brilliant Banwa! I'll add in the links. Good luck for your future as a Mrs!
*edit* Just moved my feedback from the first post down here so it's not all cluttered up with the links.
My venue- Weetwood Hall hotel, just outside Leeds near Headingly. So far they have been nothing but helpful and efficient.
My photographer: Images by Tim (Tim Smith) Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either and will work with your budget. Lots and lots of pics on his website for you to view
And I haven't picked my dress yet but I had a really good experience at Regalia Brides which is in Tingley, just outside Leeds towards Wakefield/Dewsbury way. It is a lovely little shop and you get lots of personal attention. I will probably end up getting my dress here- unless I find 'The One' somewhere else.
I've had a so-so dress shopping experience at Confetti and Lace in Pudsey. I went on a Sunday and there were only 2 people working, but they had booked in about three appontments all to turn up at the same time so they were a little rushed, I didn't feel too comfortable coming out in the shop in the dresses which didn't look too good in front of strangers and the lady wasn't very friendly (probably because she was feeling a bit harrased and busy and I bet she hadn't had any lunch yet!)
So, that is my input.0 -
Laura, try Sofia and tell her I said so!!0

actually- just found them on facebook. The link doesn't work though. Maybe they're doing some building work?0 -
I think it will be quite nice to have space so everyones not all crammed in and can spread out. They are also being very nice and seperating off the conservatory bit (I think they call it the orangerie) next to the bar so OH can hook and Xbox up to the TV for Guitar Hero
Hello Laura - I cant get the venue decorators link to work! What are they called?
Thanks x0
