Brown sticks his foot in his mouth

I've missed most of the conversation here, but here's what I think.
We need a good strong PM, one who looks good on the world stage, what Brown now looks like, is a bully, someone who blames someone else for everything, he looks weak, he looks stupid.
I don't mind my politicians having strong views, in fact I dislike these wishy washy ones which go with whatever they think people want them to think.
He looked false when he came out her house and said he misunderstood what she said, his smile was false, his demeanour.
Imagine Churchill saying that behind someones back, he would have come straight on TV and agreed yes the woman was a bigot and here's why.
I don't care what he called someone, I do care that he acts like an idiot in front of the cameras and he acts like a different kind of idiot behind the cameras. I have no doubt he is finished.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
i really can't believe that this thread is still going.
the guy made a mistake (a very bad public image mistake) is it really that important to the future of the country...
surely there are more important issues that should fill up our media instead of this non-story.
This has got to be the biggest over-reaction ever.
Can you just imagine what the Eton toff David Cameron (Bullingdon Boy)says about ordinary people behind closed doors. Now that really would send the airwaves blue.
ps. I'm voting LibDem and I don't imagine Nick Clegg to be any saint either.0 -

Where do you think they currently point ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

So you know 100%, for sure, that because Cameron is a 'toff' he somehow assumes he's better than ordinary folk?
Can you not see the irony in your statement? You state Cameron is a toff that looks down on ordinary folk. Is that not just a bit bigoted itself in the same way Brown assumes anyone who has a view on something is a bigot also?
I'd have thought that a top Eton education would have at least taught him some good manners and some humilty - something Brown appears to be lacking.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Where do you think they currently point ?
Currently, they are pointed at a small house in Rochdale (apparently).:DAnger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -

True, but the problem as i see it is the term "bigot" which is used by PC left wingers to stifle any debate on certain subjects, it sort of sums up Brown.
If he had let slip something like "stupid woman" it would not have had the same political dimension.0 -
They are pointed at Russia.
(By the way, the debate is whether we should fork out 100billion for nuclear submarines that probably won't work for the first decade (Labour and Tory policy), or 10 billion for warheads that can attach to our existing scud missiles, which we know will actually work, and can be fired from existing aircraft and submarines. It isn't whether we should abandon nuclear weapons. All three parties want nuclear weapons)“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I've always voted LibDem and will be this time as well.
Not that that matters how I see Brown, I've always taken people on their own merit, not the party they are in.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
