We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

  • I got my subscription by getting 3 for £1 I think in an internet offer. Don't go on to the full subscription and do so again when I am next sent the offer. OK you don't get all the editions but tbh I find it plenty for ideas. I a m also getting Olive and Easy Cook ( that one for DH and DD!) the same way.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

I just opened mine, and you are right, there really are some good recipes this month. I have been disappointed with it for a few months because a lot of the recipes seemed to be very expensive, dinner party style.

Justamum, there are lots of veggie recipes this edition and lots of meat recipes that can be adapted to suit. There is a section called "the modern vegetarian" by Bill Granger which looks delicious. I think there is also a Good food vegetarian magazine that comes out from time to time.

There is also a section in the back on the best products from value ranges, covering all the supermarkets, which is interesting.

Thanks - I think I might have to go and splash out on a copy this month then.

I got mine yesterday (Another Tesco Clubcard Subscription) :D I've only looked through the little receipe book you get, but I thought the same, these quite a few that I would make in that alone. :T

I just came on to post about this...it's a great magazine! I was bought a subscription last birthday as I'm a cookbook addict (actually working my way through copying out recipes I want and selling the books on eBay)...although the recipes are often cheaper since the recession started, I still find most issues have food that is outside my price range.

I was thrilled with this one, like some of the others, I've only looked through the little recipe book but I'd make loads. It's advertised as all dishes under £1.50, but in reality a lot of them come in far below. They aren't chickpea curry price level but they're a far cry from the usual cost of recipes in glossy magazines.

    Lovely and highly recommended.
  • oh sorry what a shame! i wasnt aware! however i did get 2 copies of the little extra guide recipe books with 50 value recipes in, if anyone would like one please let me know!
