I used to subscribe to "Inspirations" magazine. Sadly, when I bought one recently, they seem to have stopped the "How to make it" section - so I won't bother anymore.

I'm sad to hear Family Circle is finishing production this year... I don't buy it every month as sometimes I can't afford to but I buy it as often as I can...

Surely I can't be the only person who likes it's mix of articles, practical tips etc rather than all this celeb stuff.. tbth.... I cannot be bothered about reading about celebs and I am not overly bothered about fashion which are the other main women's mags....

:( don't think there is much left for me to look at now..

I have issues of Prima going back to when it was first published but then stopped buying them because they changed their style. Used to love the articles on how to dress for £xxx and get several different looks, not to mention all the craft patterns :)

Now though, if I do succumb to buying magazines (I'm a mag-o-holic so I have to curb my urges :o ) I look out for:-

    Country Kitchen

    Grow Your Own

I'm really not into celeb chat/gossip or 1001 ways to have an orgasm so a lot of magazines (in my opinion) are just a waste of money.

    Thank goodness for the internet!!!

I've been getting Family Circle for years
I love their recipes and use their xmas recipes year after year
I've gathered a lot of knitting patterns from magazines over the years and keep them in folders, some of them looked very old-fashioned at one time but seem to be back in fashion again now so glad I kept them :)

I get this on a monthly subscription and its the only magazine I can truthfully say I've ever bought consisitently over the last 20 years!

Its like saying goodbye to a friend!:cry:
  • Do you think that it's a bit like Heinz saying that they were going to discontinue making salad cream and there was an outrage - they said 'aw go on, we won't stop making it then'?

Organic life is quite good, I got it on subscription after reading a copy at future MIL's house. Certainly makes me feel less 'out of place' than other magazines! It has articles about cookery, hen keeping, and this month a big article about washable nappies:)
I do get others however, mainly for the offers like freebies or 3 issues for £1, that kind of thing. As a teenager I used to read mums prima mags in the summer hols! Always been a bit of an old fart at heart LOL;)
I remember family circle whan I was little, and thought there was a real 'circle' somewhere! Maybe this is it! OS is the 'circle' Ooh it's just like lost - missing presumed pickling ...
Used to go into the library with a friend whilst I was still at school and read good housekeeping :) I was only 14:)
BTW now I'm at the ripe old age of 35 how long before it's peoples friend...
Dad used to read the countryman.

I like Prima, but will also get Good Housekeeping - or in fact whatever is going at the market in the "big town" I go to once a month for big-town-type shopping. I only buy any of these mags if they are 3 for £1.50
I once even got one of the celeb goss rubbish ones. Mind you, that was cos it had a free beach bag in it. So I ditched the magazine in the recycling without reading it & got a nice beach bag for 50p!
