When i was getting quotes for Pru Health, I went through Quidco and I now have it showing up about 5 times on my Quidco log even though I didn't buy!

    M

    EDIT

Just been through Quidco again and this time get the Boots vouchers offer, so I click "The value of health insurance" on the left menu and a banner just below the top red horizontal strip says about the gym offer. I think its just random!

I still have nothing in Quidco. I also have my paperwork but there is no voucher for Cannons free for six months - just the subsidised £25 a month offer?
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

I just phoned pru and they said they have given me the boots vouchers, not the cannons offer. I told them I didn't want that as it was the cannons offer I joined for. They are investigating and will get back to me within 3 working days.

  • Well that's no good of Pru! i think alot of us have only joined for the gym offer so hope they sort this out. Haven't had my paperwork from them yet so can you keep us posted?

Did you mention the quidco cashback at all or is it showing in your account?
  • Looks like Pru have cottoned on - just been onto the Prusite and they have changed the offer to £100 cashback but only to Egg customers.

When you go through the link in the 1st post it still flashes the gym offer but then when you ask for a quote it says "offer expired".

Hope they still honour our policies. Luckily I did print off the T&Cs and no where on there does it say they have the right to withdraw or substitute the offer (like they now have on the T&Cs for the egg offer) so I will kick up a fuss with them if they try and worm their way out of it.

    Fingers crossed ladies!
  • Hi everyone, just to clear up some questions, I did this entirely over the phone because I got overexcited and forgot to check Quidco first, !!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!, but it did mean I could ask lots of questions

    1) the £25 activation fee - you only pay this if you cancel the gym membership at the end of the 6 months rather than carrying on with the £25 from then on. However, no reason why you can't pay the £25 for one month, which you would have paid for activation fee anyway and then cancel

    2) how to activate the gym membership - Once the first payment has gone out of your account from the pru (i was told around 7 days after joining) you must then call their customer services freephone on 0800 092 7333 and they will then activate your gym membership for you

    3) peak times - yes the membership is a full membership so you can go at anytime

    4) Cancelling - You can cancel with pru at ANY time providing you give 30 days notice which can be done over the phone, but it you cancel within 6 motnhs then they will cancel your gym membership

    5) which policy? - If, like many, you are getting this simply for cheap gym then go for the lowest policy called their core policy, with maximum excess which is £1000 and say you do over 3 hours exercise a week, even if its not true your not planning on claiming anyway so what have you lost?

    6) Vitality points - if it works out cheaper to pay for your policy and the extra 25 after 6 months, then after a year it will get even cheaper because just by a) not claiming for a year and b) attending one of their partner gyms your policy will come down next year

    7) is the offer still on? - yes it is until the 31st August, you can phone today and not have your policy start for up to 30 days, and you dont have to activate 6 months at the gym until end of October

Hope this has been helpful, have fun at the gym, i know at £16 a month I will :rotfl:

    Gosh.
I'm very new to all this. I receive the mse newsletter and clicked through to this link. Very interested in Holmes Place membership and phoned up Pru to see if it was indeed full membership and not off-peak.
They confirmed this but said that I would have to secure the offer on the phone and not through the website.
Read above post from shimmasok (very helpful, big thanks) and the other posts too. Joined quidco, clicked the link to Pru after doing a search for it. Applied online with the 'join before 31 Aug and get 6 months gym membership free offer' banner flashing away. I was a bit nervous that I hadn't been offered an option to secure this offer but had read the terms and conditions of the offer and hope that I'll automatically get it.

Do I get any confirmation from quidco that I have clicked through from their site successfully?

I had asked for a quote earlier today but followed the quidco instructions to delete cookies and cache and temporarily disable pop-up blocker etc.

Was a bit confused about the monthly premium, mine is for £29.70 but that includes a discount. How long does the discount last for?

I just can't believe that I've done this so easily and think I may have made a mistake.
    Is it really this easy?

Strange. I don't get "offer expired" on mine.

The "discount" is permanent I believe.

As for whether it really is that easy or not, it remains to be seen whether they honour their offer or not.
