My gym - Holmes Place Printworks has a sign up saying you can bring a friend to a classfor free , don't know how strict they are on you just going to the class though. Would imagine you could only do this once or twice cos obviously the point is to get the friend to join!! I would imagine a friend could go with you and pay in too.
Edit: Been to the gym today and aswell as the free class ones there are now also signs up saying 25% off guest passes - this month only). - don't know how much guest passes are to start with though!!0 -
For people for go to a cannons gym: do they ask for identifcation? Can't i just take my insurance certificate? do they validate the dob??

...actually they'll check you dob when you ring Pruhealth to set up the gym account, so if it is incorrect, then they'll discover this then - assuming you tell them so?
this happened to me as a typo had made me 20 years younger than I actually am. My premium shot up, so I cancelled.0 -
Just wanted to say thanks to me4bargains (and Martin for his email which made me aware of this fantastic deal). Have just come back from my first trip to the lush Strand Holmes Place gym. It's fantastic! And 6 months membership will cost me a grand total of £1.16!! (Graditude also due to Quidco...)
Thanks so much, I'd never have been able to have afforded this normally.0 -

With regards to the quidco 115pound cashback are there any rules about how long you have to stay with pru health? ie you have to do a min of 6 months or 12 months otherwise you have to pay back the 115 pound cashback?0

For the record, I don't condone what you've done, but I reckon that you have two choices:
1. you continue to lie about your age. As a result your policy would be invalid if you were ever to try to use it...but I guess you get the gym membership;
2. you cancel.
Are you outside of the 30 days period - if not, you'll get the DD back, if so, you won't? Have you received your £115 from Quidco...if so, it is the ultimate scam (but obviously an abuse of Quidco).0 -
anewman wrote:But that's only for 6 months isn't it?! After which it will be quite expensive. A university Gym membership will be for the whole year. At my university it is a choice between £90 with no charge per use or £45 per year +50p per use.
So over the whole year it would be cheaper, but admittedly most people reading this will not be students - so for most people it is a good deal.
SO, cancel the 6 mth membership after it ends and then take out a 12 month student membership at the end of your initial 6 months...!0 -

Really??!!??!?!? I find that hard to believe, I've used several Holmes' Place and Cannons and they've always been super-duper tidy... and generally they always have someone either just starting, midway through, or just finishing, scrubbing SOMETHING in the changerooms...
Hmmmm... strange.0 -
crouch end holmes place (£60 per month) - showers - every cubicle has mold on the toiletry shelf and on all the sealant. changing rooms themselves also have damp patches - look up at the walls and ceilings. apparently every holmes place has the problem of mold according the the manager of crouch end holmes place..0
