Any Landlords or tenants?

I am working for a relatively new business, offering Maintenance and a full range of services to Landlords and Tenants - we are having a launch evening shortly.
If you were a landlord, or a tenant, and were invited to an informal open evening, where you could view services on offer to landlords and tenants, what would you like to see there?
At the moment we have:
Charity raffle
Business card draw (for bottle of champagne)
Glass of wine and nibbles when you get there
Displays of everything that we are offering and tradespeople to discuss any queries
Items for sale (although not sure what yet - any ideas??)
The evening is more for selling to the Landlords, but tenants will also be invited so that hoefully they can tell landlords what they want!
Thanks in anticipation.

DON'T BOTHER!!
OK well I am not going to tell them that
The landlords that we are looking at are mostly established ones - it is a student city (York) and landlords are generally doing well...:o0 -
From what you've said it sounds like you're launching a new Letting Agency.
If that's the intention, then I'd want to know what made yours different from the LA's currently available.
If it's not the intention, then I'd want to know exactly what services you were providing and why I needed them!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

No it isnt a letting agency.:D
We offer a service where we can do any maintenance required (the tenant or the landlord can contact one number for anything that needs doing) any sign offs or yearly checks etc. and we can also furnish the house - also we can help with what is needed in the house and what tenants want to make the house more desireable for renting etc.0 -

i'm a tenant and to be honest most landlords have their select plummers, electricians etc. I know mine does when he decides to get things done. I think if you want to attract people what about something like alton towers tickets or something like that as not everyone drinks so the champers wouldn't appeal to everyone. Also offer discount for first use then discount for recommend a friend/ongoing business as then peoples more likely to continue to come back to you if its a good service:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

a glass of wine is more than enough entertainment :-) I'd focus on the service, the benefits, the prices, and that's all.
I might include a legal expert for the joy of S21s, deposit schemes, etc etc... think landlords could use one.
I also wouldn't waste my money inviting tennants to your evening, they wont be the ones paying you.Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
I am a landlady and have my preferred gas, electric, plumbing and "odd job" people, the tennant also has their nmbers so IF there is an emergency and they cannot contact me they can go direct and I pay hen I get the invoice, (so far the tennant has not needed to contact them!).
No way would I pay for the sort of service you are offering, sorry but there are plenty of good workmen without having to pay extra to a middleman for a phone call I could make directly. I wish you well with the venture but I do think you will be appealing to a very small user base.Credit card debt - NIL
Home improvement secured loans 30,130/41,000 and 23,156/28,000 End 2027 and 2029
Mortgage 64,513/100,000 End Nov 2035
2022 all rolling into new mortgage + extra to finish house. 125,000 End 20360 -
I also have a number of preferred work men that i use. I wouldnt consider using a middleman to arrange it. I may as well just employ a LA to deal with the whole tenancy if i wanted that kind of service.
I wish you well in your venture, but i think you'll find most established LL's will already have a list of service men that they use.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0 -
