Our Council run centres are £15.50 I think a month for off peak usage, like I said they don't offer discount but under £5 a week is cheap. One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200

Where we live the scheme is called "Active Options". If the doctor feels you will benefit then they can give you a referral letter - you take the letter to your chosen council run venue and they give you an initial assessment to make sure you can cope with the Gym and to know which equipment will be best for you. The scheme used to work at special times of the day but here it now runs all day. The cost is reduced for a set amount of weeks only. All councils may differ but here you can also get get reduced leisure if your on IS or DLA . Hope that helps!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes

I live in Birmingham and my local council run a scheme called "exercise on prescription". I got refered by my dr to the gym and got the first 10 sessions reduced by £1. I get WTC so was automatically entitled to half price sessions. Full price £4.20, half price £2.10. Monthly subscription whilst on WTC is £22.50 per month for unlimited gym use, sauna, steam room and pool.0
