turn the laptop off then, and use the pc in the config screen, then you should be able to see yours appear in the list when you switch the laptop back on.
what model is the laptopEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Laptop off, still two connections showing on the netgear settings page, still get the error message in the run cmd box.
Laptop is the Acer travelmate 2414 WLMI"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0 -
On the netgear logon page I get router status advice showing two mac addresses - one saying ADSL port and one saying LAN port. The only difference is the mac addresses is the last letter"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0

on the laptop screen, at the bottom, do you have any lights shaped like a satellite dish, is it lit?
do you have any buttons number 1-6, and if so, does 6 have a satellite dish icon, if so press it.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
You're very patient!
I can't find a satellite dish but can find the mac number for the laptop now I've switched it back on. Do I just check the box next to the right one and click add?"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0 -
Not that I can see

do you have the manual?
it does have wireless built in doesn't it?
on the bottom right of the screen near the date, do you have a monitor icon with }} at the side?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Can't see that icon either. It says wireless enabled with Acer Signal-Up. It connects to the internet so it must be wireless because it's not connected to anything else"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0
