Stuck on the finding my wireless mac address

Can run cmd bit and end up with a black box that tells me the version of windows I am using. Now what? Or have I done something wrong?"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0 -
To find out all the details about your network connections, just type:
ipconfig /all
That should get you all the info you need.Debts (26.3% remaining) - CC/BARC: [strike]2058[/strike] 100.00 @0%; CC/MBNA: [strike]1877.75[/strike] 0.00; Loan/SLC: [strike]10000[/strike] 7901.84 @1.5%; Loan/Per: [strike]1500[/strike] 0.00; Loan/HX: [strike]15000[/strike] 0.00

Typed that and just get an error message - internal error - a device attached to the system is not functioning. Unknown media status code"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0

Hm, that sounds like a problem

If your wireless card is found and working, it should be on the list somewhere. You might have more than one network card; if you do, one will say "unknown media" because it's not plugged into a cable. There should be a "Wireless Network Connection" section with the info about the wireless card.Debts (26.3% remaining) - CC/BARC: [strike]2058[/strike] 100.00 @0%; CC/MBNA: [strike]1877.75[/strike] 0.00; Loan/SLC: [strike]10000[/strike] 7901.84 @1.5%; Loan/Per: [strike]1500[/strike] 0.00; Loan/HX: [strike]15000[/strike] 0.00

are you still plugged into the router with a cable,
if so,
start run cmd
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt
notepad c:\ipconfig.txt
if not, plug it in first.
is your wireless card switched on? if so, it should show up under 192.168.0.1 wireless settings, setup access list, available wireless stations, and you can add it from there.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Router still plugged in with a cable, still comes up with the error message after I type in ipconfig/renew.
Gonna give in in a minute and cry lol"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0 -

Says there's two available. Neighbours have an unsecured network so one is probably theirs. Guess the other is mine but don't know which one - is there any way I can tell?"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0

is there a switch on the laptop to turn off the wireless card, sometimes it is a key combination.
do you have a desktop as well, if so, turn off the laptop and refresh the access list,Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Oh - both PC and laptop are connected to internet at the moment as well if that's of any importance"You can't buy love, but you can pay heavily for it." Henry Youngman0
