Grrr! Just do a single subtraction of readings a year apart. What is it with these people and their 'ooh, add four bills together' malarkey!!! Do people really find that simpler??? Always sounds a lot more fiddly to me.

Kim Im new to all this sorry but adding the last 4 the results I have are :-

    7744 electricity
    32300 gas

Then when I go to which switch it did come up the saving of £396 for monthly direct debit then i took all filters off and got british gas with savings of £667 can this be right?

Maybe...which region are you in. I put those figures into my calculator and it comes back with a saving of £720 in the East Midlands on British Gas Websaver 11 Duel Fuel. The best standard plan is British Gas's Standard plan (paid by direct debit) at a saving of £402. So yes I'd say it's right.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

The difference is the compulsion to use monthly direct debit, you are fixed for 12+ months, must be duel fuel, must be managed online and no paper bills. At those usage figures it's worth the hassle to consider the Websaver plan. You'll be saving around £300 for those sacrifices.

Just to confirm I put your figures in for North West and they are correct. The figures are a saving of £675 or £404 so pretty much the same as your figures except for an £8 extra saving on both tariffs.

Assuming you are in Scottish Power's home region then savings of £700 are available if you switch from the standard tariffs with Scottish Power.

British Gas WS 11 and EOn SOL 6 are cheapest. Even Scottish Power's own cheapest tariff would save £500 per year.

What 'filters' are you talking about?

Edit: just noticed you are in the northwest. Random Liverpool postcode yields similar results (£45 dearer for scousers!).
