Well done! Sometime soon you can edit your sig so have even less 'debt' (watch the sig get smaller until you're debt free!) - and maybe also keep a post it on your fridge reminding you of how well you have done on all the items!MFW #185

It's been a while since I posted as I have been waiting for the house sale to go through and it finally has.
We ended up with £149,500 from the sale of the house and I'm now left with £24,516 of unsecured debt.
I will edit my sig with the new balances.
I have more debt than I would have liked and it is looking like my dfd has been moved back to around autumn 2008.
I am going to keep a spending diary so that I can stay focused and hopefully move this dfd forward :A

We have kept our small change in a bottle over the last few months and I took it to the bank today and paid it in. £17 in total :T
I do have a quick question. I rang MBNA Europe up today to find out what the balance is on my loan. My settlement figure is £17,097 but my balance as it stands today if it runs to the end of the term is £23590.
Which one do I include in my "debts". The settlement figure or the figure with all of the terms interest loaded on?

I checked my ciao account this morning and I've accumulated £7.45 which I have requested to be transferred into my bank account. Every little helps!
Yesterday was almost a no spend day but I ruined it by buying a can of coke from the machine downstairs at a cost of 60pence!
I've bought a bottle of squash into work from home to eradicate the cost of buying cans of coke! At 60p per day that's £219 per year!!!

I listed 3 items on ebay last night. An old mobile phone, a BT Hub and hub phone and an old speedtouch modem.
Hopefully this will bring in around £50 which I can throw at the credit card.

HI coxj
Just seen this thread for the first time and wanted to say wow - well done for paying off such a huge chunk off your debt. Hope you and the family are comfortably settled in the new home.
Re your question about which figure to use for your debt total, I posted a similar one a few days ago, and the consensus was that if you can't afford to pay it off now, put the big figure including all the interest. So that's what I've done, even though it's a tad depressing.
Good luck with clearing the rest of the debts - you seem to be going great guns

My three items sold on ebay last night and I was able to transfer £70 to my bank account which will be used towards paying off my credit card.
I also listed 5 more items last night. 3 Books, 1 old digital camera and a dvd player that has never been opened.
Unfortunately the quitting smoking is not going to plan
