Tesco Misprices Discussion area part 7

Yet another disgraceful showing by Surrey Quays.
I picked up 2 Atlantic Smoked Salmon, SEL was £7.99, charged £8.99, and some other stuff. I was told I could only have the difference as I had purchased 2 and the price sticker on the fish was £8.99, even though the barcode on the SEL matched. She kept saying 'You picked you two, you are not getting a refund' I showed the policy, she said 'Not in this case' I alway shave issues there, even with very very blatant misprices they stopped refunding months ago for ANYTHING. I asked to call head office, she refused. Duty Manager was the only manager in the store and she wa son her break, although on the phone so agreed to refund one, but not two. Finally someone else came over to the customer service desk and she said 'refund it' but she wasn't a manager, was just someone with some common sense.
Theire behaviour is atrocious at that customer service desk.0 -
Just wondered if anyone on here is from Inverness? usually up here are quite slow on the uptake to these kind of things and wondered if there are any rampant R&R'ers about that may have already caused our CS to be a bit suss already?I LOVE MSE! :money:0

In my youth I worked on the tills in a supermarket, and the way things are going with my job, I might just end up back there.
I don't think checkout staff are necessarily mentally challenged, but it is a bl**dy mind-numbingly boring job. Is it any wonder they pay scant attention to what you are actually buying, let alone what stickers are on the thing.
Went to a new Tescos today and the girl on the checkout was using all her mental capabilities to keep her chewing gum from falling out of her mouth. She looked completely brain dead, and No, thats not insulting her, I would probably look exactly the same if I had sat there for a couple of hours doing that job. When I worked on the tills I used to make tunes up in my head, and be running through all the things I had to do for the rest of the day/week
The fact that the job is so boring is probably why we get away with so many R&R's and coupons. If you read the coupon threads we all try and hunt down the students who work late or at weekends - they are supposed to be the brainy ones, but they are usually the ones who couldn't give a fig about what is on the belt or what coupons you give them, they are just there to earn money. I don't think many plan to climb the supermarket career ladder, so they are not out to make a good impression by saving Tescos a few quid here and there. They just want their shift to be over with asap, and get on with their lives - don't we all.
Personally, if and when I use the word 'dopey' I don't NECESSARILY mean that someone is thick, I often mean they are just not concentrating.0 -

They would have to find one first,;)0 -

ha ha
It amazes me how quick SOME people are to point out that they have been overcharged, create merry hell when they dont get the free products that they DESERVE as someone somewhere has made a mistake.......that is until the mistake favours them when they strangely go all quiet until they can get to an internet forum.
Fair enough, the CS assistant was not sharp enough to refund the amount that you had been charged but you didnt exactly point it out either.....we've been through the greed debate and I dont wish to flog a dead horse but how much can you really take the pee???Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

Yes, I visit every Extra on the way and depending on the product I might visit some other stores in the area.
Nothing to do with motorbikes. Why?
I usually scan the product or get a member of staff to check the price for me and hope that the price increases because it doesn't always do that. It may decrease or teh offer might be extended.0 -
Have any regular R&R'ers been getting strange looks from staff when they go into their local Tesco?
I went into mine yesterday and noticed a lot of the staff giving me weird looks. The same day and time the previous week I got an R&R from some smarmy CS guy who accussed me of deliberately looking for misprices - he was there also yesterday. I may be paranoid but I went in again today, not a usual time for me, and didn't get any looks  !0 -

I hate it when you've had a rather tricky RnR with someone and they recognise you and you both know that you are doing it on purpose. Sometimes they just smile as if to say 'well done', but the more jobs worthy ones are really moody. But yeah, they do recognise me in Western Avenue cos I'm 6ft2 and my housemate is 6ft5 and we often go together, and unfortunately, cos we can't afford hairdressers, we have shaved heads. It makes them more wary of us...0
