just ring them n tell them as u can buy bud cheaper than that at Asda
ps. i thin u need all that bud to calm down after all the tesco fiasco - im feelin it, drinkin on ur behalf - smiley face....SIMPLES!0 -
Well, they've just been.
I got 6 boxes of 20 Bud 300ml = 36000ml
I ordered 41 x 4x330ml Stella = 51120ml
Got charged the same price. They marked it down as 6x £10 Bud with £8.75 price promise. Surely it should have been 8 boxes at a minimum (fogetting the price match).
Sounds like you had the same person who did the maths for my order. Basically for every 7 four packs you ordered, they have substituted with a twenty pack of bud (they subbed 7 of my 4 packs for a 24 crate of 330ml bottles of stella)
I only lost out on 4 cans so £1.25 so I'm probably not going to pursue it but you've lost more due to the bottles being smaller with bud and a larger order (I only ordered 12 four packs which was the most it would let me). Also not pursuing as I also gained 2 bottles of domestos I never ordered so if I get desperate I can drink that (joke)
I did complain last week when I ordered 3*2l bottles of value cider and it got subbed with just one 3l bottle of regular cider rather than the 2 bottles you would expect to make the 6l I originally ordered. I got a partial refund on the cider and a £10 e-voucher which I put towards my stella!
I don't know how they can get the subs wrong on quantity and volume. All they have to do is have little computerised pads with them (which I assume they have anyway to tell them what to pick and tell the pad what they have subbed with). If they need to sub, the pad should automatically tell them how many of the substituted item they need to put in to make the order equal to or greater than what was originally ordered. The system already knows how much volume is in each product to work out cost per 100g or litre or whatever so this wouldn't be too hard to implement and would stop people getting under subbed.
I think someone also posted in this thread saying they had been under subbed and the store didn't even see what had been done wrong. I liken it to this: if I have a recipe and need 12 eggs for that recipe and so order a 15 pack of eggs, if tesco then sub it for 1 six pack of eggs then I can no longer make my recipe and the substitution was unsuitable0 -

Not according to my asda online he cant. Best deal on bud I've found is 12 300ml bottles for £8. He actually got a pretty good deal for bud, but not as good a deal as he should have got for the stella he ordered (even if he did go a bit mad ordering 41 packs)0 -

I'd rather have Stella though, it makes no sense as the store I ordered from had Stella bottles of 330ml piles high. Surely that would make more sense than Bud? Also it would make more sense for them to sub 164 cans for 160 bottles (I realise it would be hard for them to give me 164).
Oh well, Ive emailed them, I'll see what they say. Anyone know how I stand with Visa regarding a partial chargeback?0 -

Probably not very likely. Tesco delivered an alternative which you accepted and signed for. Tesco would like tell Visa this and the chargeback would be rejected.
By all means e-mail tesco as you have but I think best you can hope for is what I got with my cider last week (a partial refund and a goodwill voucher for next time) though thats assuming your e-mail is read by someone who can follow the maths0 -

Yeah that bit doesn't make sense, especially as I got substituted with bottles for most of my order (losing out on 4 cans worth in the process as they couldn't do sums)0 -
plently in my local store, got 16 packs0

Yeah, I was told Bud was substitued for Stella, presumed I'd get the same amount though. I suppose it depends how much Tesco want to keep me as a customer.0 -
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your reply.
I am really sorry for any confusion caused regarding my last email. This was not my intention but to explain things for you and to resolve the issue best we can.
I can confirm on your online account that you had placed two orders with us. The first order due for delivery on the 27th April was cancelled due to the items being out of stock.
I can also see that the second order was successfully delivered to you yesterday. Again, it seems that the Stella you order were not available at the time your order was picked.
Although we try very hard to maintain product availability, unexpected customer demand or stock problems can occur especially as this particular item is currently on offer. However, the store has substituted the Stella for Budweiser and this was delivered to you.
It is Tesco's policy to price match all items that have been substituted except for products on offer. Due to this I am unable to send out a further 44 bottles of Stella or Bud to you.
Was this beer actually ever on offer, I thought it was just marked as a reduction?0 -
I've posted a way to get 120 440ml cans for £30 + delivery here -
