Having problems here too
I had my 4 packs substituted with bigger cans, my mum has just had her order delivered, she only ordered 2 packs, and they're just not there. It simply says 'sorry, item unavailable, you have not been charged'. We both get delivered to from the same store. When she phoned and asked why they hadn't subbed, they said 'it was on special, we don't sub specials'. So why did they sub mine? Haven't got time do deal with CS for her at the mo as I need to go out, anyone good at dealing with Tesco CS got any tips on how I can give them hell later on when I get in?Come ride with me, through the veins of history...

Email the address on the top of the invoice. Point out to them what you ordered, what you were told by the store, the fact that it doesn't show its a special offer on the website so what they said about not subbing specials is complete rubbish, and you find it hard to believe Tesco would have made such an ordering blunder as to completely exhaust their entire supply of lager this close to a bank holiday weekend so there should have been something to substitute it with
Should get a goodwill voucher I would expect0 -
ooooo so close
Ordered 12 of the 4 packs of 330ml so 48 cans in total
Received 5 of the 4 packs of 330ml so 20 cans in total. Remaining 28 cans were substituted and price matched with 24 bottles 330ml in size
Net result missing 4 cans/bottles
I may let them off though as we ordered zero bottles of domestos bleach and received 2 bottles. Suppose that will do as a replacement for my missing beer0 -
I've just received a text from them saying they're delivering between 8 and 9pm. The plot thickens....
Then I've called them and they say they're coming but have substituted Stella for Bud.
She can't tell how many they've substitued it for but she thinks it's 6x20 packs of 300ml. Surely I should receive more than that as I ordered 164 cans of 330ml Stella?0 -
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Just received mine - had ordered 34 x 4 packs, plus some kosher ground almonds they had a big post-Passover reduction on.
Delivered 20 x 4 packs, substituted out the almonds for some non-kosher ones (if I was Jewish I might be tempted to question the wisdom of that...) which I gave back to the driver, and said 14 packs undelivered as out of stock (local store is Bow)
Total cost (with -£10 for a first web order) was £19.50, making it a healthy 24p a can, so won't be complaining. Roll on the summer.0 -
Am I right in thinking that if I ordered 164 cans of Stella and they deliver 120 bottles of Bud then I should pay less than I otherwise would for 164 Stella?
Why couldn't they just substitute them for Stella, even if they used the bottles, makes no sense to me. I don't mind bud but I bought them between three of us, two of whom don't like bud.
The way I work it out. I ordered 41 packs of 4 cans (164) of 330ml Stella for £51.25. It looks like I'll be receiving 6 packs of 20 300ml Buds (120). So I should only be charged for 30x 4 packs (120) at £1.25 = £37.50. That's if I ignore the fact I'll be getting 33ml per bottle less.
I used a £10 off first shop over £50, would that still count if they only charge me £37.50?0 -
Andrew - my £10 first shop still came off despite the total becoming under £500

Nice one. Fingers crossed, do they give you a receipt or something showing discounts etc and total price to pay?0 -
Yeah, they'll leave a receipt with all that info on it (total, discounts applied etc)0

Will they give me the receipt before carrying it to my door? It's just it's a lot of beer and a long distance for them to have to carry it back if it's not the right price.0
