We don't eat red meat so I use chicken and turkey.
I wasn't happy with the turkey and chicken mince so I make my own.
I use breast meat (I know it is the pricier meat but I do stretch it with soya or lentils or even both)
I chop up the onions in the food processor and then add chunks of breast. When it is all chopped together I add the extenders, and some herbs, I don't cook with salt anyway and after 15-20 yrs we are used to it, and the grandchildren don't complain (and they would as they are encouraged to)
This is then browned as with mince and if using, tinned tomatoes are added.
I use the mixture in Shepherd's Pie. lasagne, stuffed peppers etc.

Hi,
I'm on a bit of a mission. I want to fill my freezer with ingredients and home made 'ready meals'. So I can make my life easier.
Would people be interested if I did some kind of diary of what I'm cooking/preparing etc? Just thought it might inspire a few!
Would people be interested?0 -
