What a load of tosh!? is your son destined tou be socailly inept already?!
just because he will not have close siblings by no means says he will not have close friendships, in fact i think he will be better off socially as he will have to make those friendships rather than take them for granted!!

So are u tactfully saying that maybe things aren't as she thought lol?
  • the last 3 replied no i am not saying that but that is a part of it.

i guess the relationship i have my brother has made me feel like this, having a 8 year age gap i never wanted my son to feel the way i did/do towards my brothers.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have a large gap between my sister, she's 18, im 27 and my brother is 29.

We have never fallen out, yes she is a pain and thinks my wardrobe extends to her use, but i cannot stand my similar aged sibling at the best of times.
  • Hi dragonfly :j
I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I fell pregnant 2 weeks after coming off the pill with my first son id been on it for 3/4 yrs as had terrible periods since i was 11. second time around we decided to aim for a 3ish year gap no rush dp wanted to wait was progressing at work etc etc. Started ttc and didnt fall pregnant straight away...ok bit strange i thought but you know i was a bit older etc we wasnt "at" it 5/6 times a day like we were with the first . I went on to have 2x60 day cycles and then popped to the doctor who i must say was fantastic. We started ttc in the aug i was diagnosed with PCOS in the dec and was pregnant by march. I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle of metaformin. Do you take any meds? 6 months isnt alot to ttc but i had such a shock to find out i had pcos and also that i didnt concieve straight away.
My boys have 4yrs between them and are the best of friends, so please dont worry about the gap there is about 5 mums pregnant at the school atm on their 2nd child so they will have a 6yr+ gap

GOOD LUCK, stay positive go with the flow and im sure it will happen soon
    take care
    Jo x

I have a sister who is four years younger than me and a brother who is five years younger than me and im not closed to either and never have been. I used to wish as a child that i was a only child. My brother and sister are not close neither.

i've never been close to my sister, and often wished i was an only child when i was frowing up
my identical twins, fight all the time, there is no guarantee that having kids close together is gonna make them best friends
loves to knit and crochet for others
  • When my eldest son was 3 I was in very much the same boat as you. No periods and not much hope of getting pregnant but I went to my GP and he referred me and my husband to the hospital for tests. There I discovered that as I suspected I was not ovulating. I was given various combinations of tablets and injections and after a number of tries I got pregnant. I then had twins just a week after my sons 5th birthday. This age gap proved to be perfect as he was at school and allowed me to not be too overwelmed with the new arrivals. (They are now all grown up with my eldest now 31!)

So don't get upset and go see your doctor. But please remember that you have a baby for its own sake not company for your child. My daughter now has a 7 year old son and he is quite happy and has lots of friends at school and my daughter arranges sleep overs for him with some of them. So either way there is hope. So good luck and try to enjoy each day and what it holds as life moves on so fast.

You can get tablets that will induce a period, the ones I was on were called Provera. Go back and ask for these or similar. Also I would think about changing to a different consultant, this one sounds like a bit of a dragon
