Jojo - do you have a coat rack of any kind in your hall? It's useful (and makes it look lived in :D) to have somewhere to hang coats/bags) and if you have the space, to have one with a shelf above for hats/scarves/gloves/junk. Also a small table or shelf above the radiator for keys/phones etc that you want to grab/put down on your way out/in. I have an umbrella stand just inside the door (currently full of pipe lagging for some reason :o) and because it is a square rather than narrow hall, coat hooks in a corner with a chair undeneath them (currently buried under a pile of scarves :p). Handbags, hats, gloves, more scarves & gym kit are in a chest of drawers under the stairs, and I keep my wine rack next to it.

There is also a pile of gardening books, a cardboard box full of stuff that came out of one of the kitchen cupboards 3 months ago, 15 litres of white vinegar and 3 kgs of epsom salts :o:D

Jojo - what about some nice framed photos of your family on the walls? Other than that I think Pigpen and Greenbee have some good ideas!
Miss A - those cakes look deeeelicious!
Greenbee - new hair sounds very nice, i love those really dark colours. Having a good hairdresser is soooo nice, definitely worth sticking with.

It is saturday night and I am bored. I feel like my head is swimming with french grammar.

  • Thanks for your suggestions!

Can't do the shoe rack as there would be ructions every morning when I tripped over it to get into any of the rooms or out of the front door (yes, the hall is that narrow).

I could replace the battered old coat hooks for one with a shelf included though...that could have a few extra bits on top...like a couple of my mini hatboxes...

And a radiator cover/shelf for the general gumpf...

And a fern... (It doesn't matter how hard I try to neglect anything green, it just seems to thrive and grow about 3 foot bigger than it is supposed to do.)

Maybe a glass shade for the ceiling...and a bigger picture for the main wall...

    Hmmmmm...I like these ideas!

Thank you - I think Sunday is sorted now!

Yes, but when you're done, if you could nip round here and start on mine that would be great :D

I am nearly up to date with the lists - level one only, but I'm really pleased as it's made a real difference this week. I am off almost all week now (only working Tuesday) and want to get lots of other stuff done, and now have the confidence I can manage. Sorry I haven't kept up with the Fred, but I spend enough time in here as it is!

Jojo, my hallway is small too, and we have one of those shoe cabinets from Ikea on the wall,, it's very slimline, you can hide all the gubbins in it,and takes up very little space, you should have a look at those - I've also noticed Argos do them now, too.

It is very wet and windy here ATM, so I am glad I decided not to go car booting, this week.

Maybe put seedlings out side in the rain as it will be better for them, but them I have to do snail watch, as they will be round to feed on them.

Noticed yesterday that spuds are at last getting on with growing, my peppers are about 3mm it that as tiny tiny seedlings, plus the strawberries are starting to form up, yum yum.
