cosmomo I think that is sad your son wants to carry on being 2 and no party, (bearing in mind I don't have children) what has happened for him not to want to be 3, has someone said something to him at nursery or playgroup? or when he has been playing with sisters/ cousins/ friends?

I do remember my infant school, has a horrid large plastic cake thing and if it was your birthday at school, you had to go to the front in assemblies and hold it, while everyone sung very badly happy birthday, I was so please I missed that because of the hols. It was horrid and I still remember it to this day.

I would suggest a fun afternoon in the local park or similar and take a picnic with you, and just don't mention the word birthday when he does want cards / presents / party, then you can arrange something then.

Spotty dog training is going well - she now walks to heal for about 90% of the walk which is amazing for her!

Can I ask some tips of you about this. We are having the same type of problem with our Jess. She is constantly pulling, and very jumpy at the slightest noise. To the point that she's pulling so hard she virtually chokes herself and ends up being sick. And she wont listen to DP at all, to the point where he wont walk her. We have to take it in turns where I take Jess out(she listens to me slighlty more than him) then when I get back he will take our older dog out.

Summermoon - we bought a Halti for DHs [STRIKE]evil chicken killing monster [/STRIKE]collie recently and it has improved him out of recognition. It holds his nose rather than his neck or his legs so he isn't pulling forward all of the time which makes him a lot less annoying on a walk, and means SS1 can take him running. It took him a couple of days to get used to it but now leaves it alone. Not a miracle cure for all though - it didn't work for Mudbaths Spotty dog.

Upstairs is lots better - bins emptied, washing sorted and the next load in, bathroom S&S'd. I resisted the garden in order to get on inside. I can do downstairs once I have got the boys from school so might just get a quick half hour in outside. Just need to hoover, S&S the kitchen and do a bit more ironing now - oh, and remake our bed.
