I have a bit of a dilemma with DS. It's his 3rd birthday tomorrow but he's adamant he doesn't want a birthday - no presents, no cake, no party and no being 3 - he wants to stay 2. He's quite stressed about it. I've tried the 'you can stay 2 but still have a birthday' approach but to no avail. Shall we just ignore his bday (sisters will be devastated)? Any ideas anyone?! ...
I'd be inclined to play down the birthday bit altogether, even to the point of keeping cards etc out of sight, kids do get some funny ideas but he'll probably get over this in his own time; how about having an 'unbirthday party' then his sisters wont be upset and he may well enjoy it if there's no focus on him.passthewine wrote: »...
Would anyone mind if I ask a question? Was my post on PenPens thread offensive. I had a pm telling me to move it as no one wants my opinion and to delete it. Would people rather I didn't post, it's really upset me.
Will delete this later:(
no one has the right to tell you to remove posts except the admin, Martin or a bg. I'm guessing it was none of these so just ignore it; tbh if I'd recieved such a pm I'd report it to abuse - sorry, forgot to say that I didnt see anything offensive at all in your post.
right, I'm off to do some more flying
edited to add, I forgot to say that I moved the fridge out earlier to clean the floor behind it and found several teaspoons; when the wm has finished I'll move that out too, wonder if I'll find any treasure behind it?... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Morning all
I am running in slow motion today - I had a restless night with jumping legs that kept waking me up. Mum phoned at 8 am (way too early for me) but she has bought me a walking stick (so happy as in a lot of pain when walking and feel a little wobberly) so I will wait for the parcel. Also had a t/c from XH to say that his mum has broken her hip and is in hospital waiting for surgery today - best find a card to send today.
so far I have picked up and put away:
10 kitchen
10 my bedroom x 2
I load washing up
1 WM done - just going to hang it out and refile the WM
also decluttered my breakfast and the early tablets
Will go and have a another short burst
bye for now

Morning all
Been and had DS3's wires decluttered, it was a bit emotional for him but not painful and is now done. Consultant was really pleased with the bone growth and has decided on no new cast to improve mobility of the joint so let's just hope we can keep him still for 2 weeks.
Just having a cuppa and then plan to has a wizz around tidying.
This afternoon will be the dreaded kids bedroom dusting (all beds were changed and floors hoovered on the weekend so that will be 3 rooms done).
Cats had a big falling out yesterday but seem calmer this morning (fur was flying big time) and I hope the same is true of the OS posters too!The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Cosmomo no advice but that is so sad. Do you know why he doesn't want to be 3 - does he think something like a snuggly will be taken away? or that certain tv shows are for little ones. I am guessing he is your youngest which is a wonderful position in the family for lots of kids.
Time to put WM1 on the lineThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
