Still plodding on although not much is being achieved from the list
plenty of nagging DD though who had 2 1/2 hours this afternnoon supposedly clearing her room and had achieved zilcho. Now I go up every 10 mins courtesy of the timer with a new job to do each time
Sorry to hear about your gran jinky
sexy the dress is gorgeous, glad you chose to have straps though, bustier types alone are just so unoriginal these days. The straps will change the neckline completely, bet you cant wait now though.
To everyone else - well done on the decluttering - I guess one day I will get around to it :rotfl:

I have decluttered 19 Cigarettes and a lighter from DD1's handbag. I asked her 10 days ago if she was smoking and she promised me she wasn't.
She has several friends who smoke and whenever she comes in stinking of smoke it's Carl, abi, suzy etc. comes out of her mouth.
We've had a busy day, football in the freezing cold this morning. DS2 won 1-0. Taking DD1 to work and painting the DS3 and DD2's bedroom (Pigpen you've inspired me!) DH picked her up at 4pm and she said she was going out for a walk at 5.15 and I was immediately suspicious. She was gone half an hour and came in and went straight to her room. When they were eating tea I went into her room to declutter the cups and glasses and the cigs were sitting there on the top of her bag. My reasoning is as she says she doesn't smoke then she can't ask where they have gone. In addition to this she has borrowed £40 from DH and I am livid to think that it is being spent on Cigs.
Was I right to confiscate the Cigs? What is more important the fact that she lied to me last week or that fact that she is borrowing money to smoke?
Oh yes and my flying today....
4 x W/M including sopping wet football kit!

I don't know how old she is but if she smokes then taking the fags off her will only stop her smoking the ones you have. I had an agreement with my mum I never smoked in front of her and I didn't use my lunch money to buy my fags. She knew she couldn't stop me so she reminded me of the dangers then let me get on with it I suppose I would have been about 14 at the time. Now drink that was another matter cause she would have killed me for that her reasoning being I knew what I was doing when smoking but could be passed out somewhere with drink and in real danger. I suppose it depends you have to do what you feel is right for her and you.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

First of all deep breath
Second take a hug
Being lied to is horrid but I doubt there are many teenagers who would answer that one truefully.
What did she ask to borrow the money for? £40 is quite a lot in my book and I'd want to know what it was needed for if I was lending it.
So now the cat is out the bag. She knows you know. I'd play for time for a day or two and see if she says anything to you. It sounds as if she certainly can't afford to be smoking let alone the health side. Good luck xThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Mumto5 - hugs for you, not easy to know what to do. It was a source of great annoyance to me that SS1 started smoking and DH didn't say a word. Now my DS's think it is a 'cool' thing to do becuase he started to do it in front of them
, and we mostly fund his horrid habit cos he just smokes his dads. Now neither can give up unless the other does.
Does she have a job? Can you break it down into cost - and how long it takes her to earn that packet of fags? If nothing else I would ask her not to smoke in front of any of the others.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
