Hi Guys,
We do not allow for indirect access numbers for the same reasons as CPS.
I'd like to point out that we've never claimed that our phone service is going to be the cheapest available. However we firmly believe that we do have customers who are going to be able to save money.
Kind regards,

Is it possible to mention to the powers that be just what the overall 500/1000minute restriction could have on your customers and may force them to move elsewhere simply as you are one of few that have an overall 500/1000min restriction.
I do agree however that you are being totally upfront about such restrictions as some companies would have hidden such a restriction in their small print or not been as transparent as you have been.0 -
bbb_uk wrote:That is the cheapest solution. Who do you use for outgoing calls now?
I don't actually use my home phone for outgoing calls very often so I just use BT. I had major issues with OneTel/Talk Talk previously so went back to BT and use their friends and family for my regular numbers.0 -

The only customer profile that is going to be able to save money (and that would be just £1 a month) is someone currently with BT, not wanting CLI, only using their phone off peak for less than 500 mins per month, never making any calls during peak times and never making any calls to any destination other than normal geographical numbers.
Such a profile would make the £1 saving on line rental (but if they wanted to pay you by credit card, then that would be wiped out by your £1 surcharge for credit card customers).
No other customer will save any money coming to you.
And you wouldn't want customers like this profile would you? Their monthly bills will have zero call charges on them.0 -

My fault actually as I merged martin's post with the previous thread0

Edit: Madassafish quoted their prices for calling mobiles in the MAAF questions/answers thread in the internet forum.
This post has been transferred from that thread to this one, which explains why the MAAF quote used appears out of context to this thread.Madasafish_Customer_Care wrote:4) What are the mobile rates days and evenings?
Network Daytime Evening Weekend
3 Mobile - 21p 15p 3.9p
BT Mobile - 14.7p 12.05p 6.64p
O2 - 10p 10p 5p
Opal Mobile - 15.51p 8.46p 7.52p
Orange - 12p 8p 7p
T-Mobile/Virgin Mobile - 13p 7p 6.9p
Vodafone - 13p 6p 4.5p
These charges for calling mobiles mean that this scheme will work out much more expensive for anyone needing to call mobiles from their landline.
If you stay with bt and use 18185 they currently only charge 2p/min at the weekends and 6p/min during the week to call any UK mobile (4p connection per call).0 -
Hi Quentin,
We don't claim to be the cheapest solution for everyone.
When you use your phone and at what time of day and to whom you call will determine who as a phone provider will be the cheapest for you.
For me Madasafish is cheaper than BT - I work through the day so I don't need daytime calls (I'm only home on evenings and weekends) and I use VOIP frequently (I've got broadband, so why not).
For people who are making loads of long daytime calls to mobile phones, we're probably not a good solution!
Kind regards,
