Anyone who has kids will go over this amount in no time, or where their other half likes to natter a lot and without sounding sexist a certain sex are known to gab a lot!
Don't forget that the 500min and 1000min is still subject to only being 60min long in length otherwise charges will then apply. That means having to ensure you don't go over 60mins per call (normal condition on most inclusive tariffs these days) and ensure you dont go over the 500 (16min each day during evening&weekend) / 1000min (32mins a day) as well.£9.99 is the cost of line rental and that includes 500 minute of calls to 01 and 02 numbers. For an additional £5.99 on top of line rental you can get 1000 minutes that you can use at any time of day (and any day of the week) to numbers starting in O1 and 02.We appreciate that we’re not necessarily going to be able to offer the cheapest rate to every destination. However, the new Madasafish Talk packages offer the ability to save money on phone bills for the majority of Madasafish customers.
To be honest Samara, you would get a lot more customers and be more competitive than all teleco's if you could drop the overall time limit of 500/1000min.
Basically, as well as the normal 60min per call your customers would also have to be carefull they don't or are not likely to go over 500min/100min a month as well (depending on package).
As I said in an earlier post, the overall time limit of 500/1000min is an additional restriction on top of the 60min per call that many, many other teleco's DON'T actually do.0 -
I think by reading the responses I will stick with BT at the moment. My caller display is great, never had it before... I can choose who I answer the phone too instead of being surprised by unwanted callers. As you've said BT charge £11 with this included.
I will stick as I am at the moment and see how things go.0 -
Hi Mobilegossip,
We do not allow for carrier pre select. It's simply because we pay the costs of all those free calls that come included in our packages and we would not be able to survive as a business if our customers didn't help us with a small amount of revenue.
Kind regards,

It's not CPS mobilegossip was referring to but indirect access codes such as 1899, 18185, 18866. These, in keeping with the ethos of this site, are numbers we can dial to get cheaper calls to certain numbers like mobile, 084x/087x and international calls, etc.
Some providers still allow access to these numbers which doesn't cost you anything albeit they do reserve the right to block access to these numbers in the future.0 -

Hi bbb_uk,
I can appreciate that if you've got a lot of teenagers or a very talkative type in your house that we may not be the best solution for you.
Just like broadband providers there isn't one telephone company that is going to tick the boxes for everyone.Yes but for £11 you can get caller display and FREE evening & Weekend calls upto 90mins without any overall time limit instead - all for only £11!
Looking at the BT site it's £11 line rental and then an additional £3.95. They charge calls during the daytime at 3p a minute to anywhere in the UK.
So if you're doing less than 500 evening and weekend minutes than we're cheaper at £9.99. The best package for you will depend entirely on your requirements!
There are some clever ways of combining our line rental/broadband with a VOIP solution that would make the fact that we don't do carrier pre select a moot point.
Kind regards,

Hi i appreciate that you dont allow CPS because only BT can do that. I was referring to indirect access numbers like 1899.18185 which is a different kettle of fish.0 -

A lot of people enjoy the benefit of FREE caller display from BT ,you charge £1.50p for it which makes your total line rental/services £11.49 a month.Compared to their £11. Couple this with 1899/18185 for cheaper calls and FREE UNLIMITED Evening and Weekend Calls as recommended by Martin Lewis .Then your service is not cheaper.
Your restricted 24/7 service is also dearer then other unlimited 24/7 services.
Another drawback is you dont appear to accept d/d.You need
A Visa, Visa Delta, MasterCard or Switch/Maestro card for payment .0
