LOL - I like to think of myself as modern - is there Square Metre Gardening anywhere
:rotfl:Errr....not that I've noticed:D
The only variant I have seen on this is jokey comments about "Square Inch Gardening" by the Dervaes family on their website (Path to Freedom) - as in they cram growing food in so tightly that literally every inch is pretty much catered for.
Square Foot Gardening is an idea that originated in America - hence in feet. Personally - I am learning to translate to and fro between the different systems - but I prefer feet and find it easier to visualise things that way.0 -

This tastes slightly tangy, and it's really nice with fresh blackberries. Even nicer with my home made lemon curd but any good quality stuff works.
-
10floz/300ml whipping cream
-
4floz/110ml Greek yoghurt
-
1 lemon, zest and juice
-
4oz/110g lemon curd
-
3 large meringues
In a large bowl, whip the cream until thick but not stiff. Fold in the yoghurt with a spatula. Mix the lemon zest, juice and lemon curd. Gently fold the lemony mixture into cream.Break the meringues into pieces (make sure some of the pieces stay quite large. They’ll break more when scooped).Fold them into the cream. Scrape the mixture into a plastic freezerproof container.Cover and freeze for 4-6hours or until solid. Remove from the freezer just before servingDiva.x
Thanks for the recipe. I will give it a go.

You could just call it 0.093 sqm gardening if you like, but it doesn't have quite the same ring to it!!! Mrs E throwing away meat, tut tut , I bet the cats gave you the evils when you did that!! Missed the last thread and the links don't seem live.0

Its immoral to throw away meat, something has died to be on your plate, the least you can do is eat it all.......
Thats why I bought the mincer;)
My cats only eat dried Royal Canin:rotfl:
They look like nuts:rotfl:0 -
My cats love their Royal Canin, but even at breeders rates I can't afford to give it to all of them all the time! One of them is 19 lbs, so it is rather expensive.
Agree all the animal should be used my moral side says eat everything, but my squeamish side doesn't agree. They are fighting it out!0 -

I agree too mrsE! The best thing I bought is my mincer, but I find when I make sausages with it, the only skins that work are the proper ones not the synthetic ones, tho I was told its all to do with when you add the water... otherwise they split.
anyhow, I digress from the quote! I wanteds to say Haggis! Its lovely, but even better home made.
Or, last year, I made faggots! My polish waitress didnt want to write it on the specials board as it was "a swear word"
Today I got my "restaurant" magazine, and now faggots are "the latest fashion" (and my dutch commis said it was a swear word!)
I am so ahead of my time !!!!
sorry to butt in, I have been lurking since the start!
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -

I rarely pay normal price for it, I always search it on offer.
I used to (for years) buy the 2kg bag, but I've worked out the 10kg bag is nearly half the price per kilo!
When I had Ted he was an only cat & I always thought the 10 kg bag too big, but seriously now, even an only cat household needs to look at the price difference on the 10 kg bags:money:
Doh! just noticed you get breeders rates, I guess thats why its so expensive for you, you got lots of kittys:D
So are breeders rates cheaper than the 10kg bags then? I think the 10 kg is about £50.0 -
Petmeds are doing a good price 10kg Persian ( I assume you use Persian for the small mouth?) £40.28 I don't get much cheaper than this at special rates! I have an issue with one of my boys eating too much and he gets porky with the nice food, he is a very big chap, but tends to put on a bit too much.
Sorry off topic. Aldi have British red tractor chickens ( I know odd breed!) for £2.99, but they don't seem to do the free range ones anymore they were about £4.50. I did one in the slow cooker with lemon, garlic and tarragon, but I don't think I like whole chickens done in the slow cooker, but lemon and tarragon with chicken is IMO always a winner and my fresh Tarragon is just coming back.0 -

on the upside, you get loads of lovely stock ... if you can face it after experiencing the vile smell it makes in your house _pale_
I gave my SC away in the end, it was great for soup, but turned everything else into homogenised mush0
