If anyone has the charcoal disposable hand warmers, you may want to try this tip.

Haven't tried it yet as I only bought a pair of these yesterday to see how they worked. My daughter always buys the gel ones (the ones with a metal disk inside that you click to activate) but we never bother re activating them, they always get left somewhere in their hardened state and then get lost.

Anyway, the disposable ones are supposed to keep you warm for at least 7 hrs but aren't as hot as the gel ones.

It says on the pack not reusable BUT, I just found this so may give this a try tomorrow.

I bought a pack of two for 79p from Home Bargains.

With Christmas fast approaching many of us want to wrap up our presents as best as possible. I am constantly reusing tubs for things but if you see/use any of the following then they can be used for other things:-

    1) the clear plastic barrel tubs with lids (sometimes opaque with sticker labels on that can be peeled off, usually comes with nice biscuits or mini muffins in them so watch out for these where you work as well)

I'm current using one of these for the ponsietta (which apparently is classed as a weed in Mexico) I bought in Mr M and it makes a lovely little plant pot. But can also be used for pens, cutlery, kitchen utensils, gifts (as a hamper) and can be covered, painted, have ribbon tied round them or left plain.

    2) Mushroom boxes.

Ok, this probably might seem like a strange one but I noticed the other day that the value/basics mushrooms I buy come in a semi-opaque clear/white retangular container. These are large enough for general storage in your cupboards to keep things tidy (spices or packets of things) or again on the Christmas/Gift theme as a box for your hamper/gifts. They are plain enough that they will go with anything or can be jazzed up again with ribbon or bows. I've not noticed these white/clear boxes on any other veg we buy but it could be supplied with others.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

I reuse the boxes vegetables come in as storage in my chest of drawers, I keep cosmetics and toiletries separate and I have used them to keep my smaller items of clothing separate, like tights belts, gloves etc. There is nothing more annoying than trying to find clothing in the dark in the morning and having it all separate helps.

My husband managed to break our cat litter tray the other day so to replace it I emptied a large plastic storage box and removed the lid and using that instead.

I emptied the stuff I was keeping in the plastic box into a cardboard box that was going to be recycled. It just goes on top of my wardrobe so it's not really noticeably scruffy.

A while ago I started to use an unused blusher brush to clean our bean to cup coffee machine. It's brilliant to use to remove ground coffee in those hard to reach areas.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j

I always keep old toothbrushes for cleaning, they are great for getting the yucky bits around taps.

With food, I've started to freeze cheddar cheese to remove as and when needed. As a child I used to have 'frozen sandwiches in my lunchbox everyday...did me no harm!

    Old toothbrushes are so usual!

Do you grate or slice the cheese before freezing? It's much easies to handle that way.You can freeze butter too btw.
