There's nothing wrong in picking up odd coppers and small change at all.I usually put it all in a small saving tin that I have on the kitchen window sill and use it towards my grandchildrens ice cream when we go on our annual August summer holday I counted it up last night funnily enough, as when there is at least a fiver in there I change it up for a note, and since last September until now I have collected £23.37 in small change simply buy keeping my eyes skinned when I'm out .School children seem to throw away 1's,2's & 5 ps outside newsagents with out a thought. To me 5p is still a shilling and I wouldn't throw a shilling away.I don't give a fig whether anyone sees me or not cash is cash and should be valued as such

A penny found is a penny earned. Two years back, I was crossing the road and saw a 20p and a 10p just lying there between the traffic island and the pavement. I held up the traffic to pick them up.

Is there any reason why the thread above was closed? Was it getting too big?

Itw as a great read. Maybe we can carry it on in Part 2?

Chop sausages in to chunks and use for stir fry instead of chicken or pork. got me through a few tough days when all i had was sausages and a wanchi ferry dinner kit.

Califlower, cabbage, peas, boiled or roasted spuds and other sunday veg ( bar leeks) taste really nice with a cheap korma sauce, some brown rice and home made chippattis (brown flour, salt and water) another meal idea for using up sundays dinner.

Another way to use up sunday veg including mash, fry a small onion, add the veg and mash till it warms through, put in a pyrex dish with some grated cheese on top and pop under the grill until the cheese is bubbling.

i serve this with chicken goujons or salad (its quite heavy on the calories)

I also use Stardrops to clean my carpet instead of buying special cleaner.
    Cleans ceramic hobs too.

I think I may have to try this on my carpets. I live in a rented house, and the carpets are all cream. Living in the country we seem to walk dust and dirt in easily, and now that I also have my granddaughter, there is drink, food etc mashed in! I do hoover but of course, but the stains dont seem to come off with any of the things I have bought so far.!
Now I got some Stardrops in my shopping the other day, so when DGD has gone to bed tonight, I must give the front room a go!. Or at least parts of it.
do you use it diluted I wonder?
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

I dilute it as it is quite strong...and try it on an area of the carpet which you don't see in case it has an adverse effect!

Definitely use it diluted. I wonder sometimes what some landlords are thinking putting cream carpets in a rented property. It must soooo very difficult to return the carpets in as clean a condition as they were at the start.

Mooloo, I have a horrible feeling that if you spot-clean the stained parts it's going to show up the rest, so perhaps it might be a better idea to borrow or hire one of those machines and do the whole thing all in one go.

I think that's the point - then they can withhold some of the deposit for carpet cleaning but never actually get it done! Had this happen to me a couple of times...
