Yes it's a bit "high" LOL
They also give out hot wipes on a regular basis on Emitates and Singapore Airlines.0 -

I don't go to the loo
on the plane so they could have some in there. Next time I'll make a point of looking.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

won't they still have the inflight entertainment on the planes? films etc.
Not taking books is probably because you can cut through the pages and store things in them..
Not taking drinks is a bit silly. If you can take baby food as long as you taste it yourself in front of security then you should be able to take a drink and taste that as well.
Or have murders and rapists at hand to do the testing for you. If it isn't what it's supposed to be and they die, who gives a sh*t.0 -

You can still buy books to take with you after you have passed through security. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Yesterday a small child in front of us was not even allowed to take her comfort blanket onto the plane. She looked upset already, so it was probably lucky she was only flying from Edinburgh to Birmingham.0

How hard is it to open a book and see it's genuine? The plus side of no hand luggage is how quick can you get on when no-one is trying to get a family sized suitcase into an overhead locker.0

Don't know what the entertainment is - am flying with BMI and haven't flown with them since they were British Midland.
I can watch the film if we have individual screens, but if it's the communal ones every few rows, I've been unlucky with seating so far and never been able to see the screen.
Books - I can understand why you can't take any, but have heard that you can buy them from the shops in the airport once you have gone through passport control. Don't know if this applies to US flights though. Some sources say yes - others say no.
Suppose its still a bit confused and hasn't settled down yet. Rules could have changed by next month (when I go to the US).0
