Singapore airport is amazing, you can have a shower and get changed normally, not sure they will let you put spare knickers in the poly bag
I am sure you will have time to grab a book if you need one, I would go loopy if I had to travel so long without reading material and music, I never enjoy the films on planes.
I hope they sort it out before you go. I would also be worried about packing my camera in the hold luggage they often throw the bags about and it's easy to damage a camera.0 -

Oh dear never mind.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions to date. This is a serious question - due to fly out to America next month and apart from the 9-10 hour flight, am expecting at least 2-3 hours in the airport each end.
I suffer badly from dehydration and the heat on planes and usually take loads of water and a small battery fan with me together with a couple of thick books (to take my mind off everything else).0 -
As it's a transatlantic flight you won't be able to take any water on board. Let's hope the airlines do the decent thing and give you free water on demand, instead of having to pay for over-priced bottles of water. We are always being told to stay hydrated because of the risk of DVT. I hope the airlines bear this in mind.edda wrote:Thanks for all the suggestions to date. You have no bother at Singapore, there's somewhere to buy a book very close to where you'll land to change flights. The prices are a little on the dear side though, so if they are allowing book buying after you clear security that'd likely be the way to go.Barcode wrote:There's an idea. And when you get there call in at "my foot"... some veeeery nice reflexology or back massages can be had there, for even a short duration. Makes you feel more humanSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
It is a shame, I always take a bottle of water and moisturiser.
I have just been prescribed some moisturiser for the ezcema on my hands......will I be allowed to take it? I'm flying to Boston on Thursday. A 7 hour flight without moisturiser....
Maybe the airline will have to supply 'goodie bags' for us all.
As long as I stay in the air who cares about dry hands!!!0 -
They give you heaps of water on the flights. No need to worry about that. No moisturiser though. Warm washers to wipe your face and hands which are nice and refreshing. They did that on Japan Airlines, not sure of the others.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

You get luckier with emirates and singapore airlines who both have moisturiser in the loo. Emirates even have "cologne", though I don't recommend trying that unless you want to smell like an 70's medallion man.AussieLass wrote:They give you heaps of water on the flights.
