Csarina What a lovely idea to make a quilt out of shirts. That way some of your friends DH will still be with her when she uses it. Fabulous.

(((ladygrim))) nice to see you posting. Enjoy your meal out tonight if you can.

I've had a good day. Met friends for lunch, had a wander round town, popped to library, visited my nan and my parents.

My nan lost my grandad 10 months ago, but has been very strong about it. My grandad was ill with various ailments for around 10 years before he died so they never went on holiday during that time. But she has just booked to go on a cruise with my 2 aunts for a week to Spain :D. My nan is 88 and almost completely blind but she will love it. She asked me to look for some cruise-esque 1 inch heels for her whilst I was shopping :rotfl: I found some in Next and she was very pleased when I rung and told her.

Both my parents have a cold so it was only a flying visit. I gained some radish and rocket that my mum has planted up for me in little pots for my balcony.

I had a little freebie in the post - travel size Dove shower gel - which I think I got by following a link here on MSE :D

I left my washing pegged out on the airer on the balcony whilst I was out. This is the first time I've left it all day. I live by the sea so it can get very windy so my fear is it will fly off and my knickers will end up on everyone else's balconies or in the big dock outside! :rotfl: But it wasn't too windy today so I tied the airer to the balcony railing and the sliding door handle so it wasn't going anywhere. It was all still there when I came home and all had dried.

I'm going to prep my curry now for dinner later, and then watch mindless tv.

    Have a good evening all

(((Ladygrim))) I got choked reading about the toothbrush too.

    Happy Birthday to jc:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:

Managed to get to monthly sale and got DD four tops and a pair of black casual trousers. Got myself a skirt, two tops and a casual dress for pottering about the house in. Got the lot for a fiver!

Three loads of washing on the line and our bed has been stripped. Posted DD(21) her driving licence and got a receipt for posting just in case.

Having sausage and mash for tea or omelette if DD prefers that.

DH arranged two house viewings for Tuesday and we think we might have found somewhere to rent quickly rather than lose house sale (buyers want to be in around May!)

    Hugs to everyone

Good evening all and codolences to Ladygrim small steps honey and a day at a time.
Happy birthday to those who are celebrating today .I have managed to get all of my holiday washing done and dried so guess what I'll be doing tonight.I watched my DGS's t.v. show(The Whole 19 Yards) that he had worked on the filming of at Pinewood and was chuffed to see his tiny credit at the end in the list of production staff. So anyone who watches it tonight will see his first t.v. 'credit' Danny Stagg at the end of the programme. Its a bit of a daft show, but I am so pleased he's got his first foot on the ladder. He said Vernon Kay is a really nice bloke to work with, and not to believe all the rubbish in the newspapers about him as he apparently does adore his missus
I am finishing up some strawberries that I brought home from my holiday cottage tonight and trying to decide what to have with them as I have no cream i suppose I could nip across the road to my tiny tesco metro and buy some but i would probably be tempted to buy something else as well so it looks like its just a fruit salad without anything else on it for pudding tonight I cooked the sausages that I brought home with me last night as well so its bangers again tonight, but I might have them with pasta for a change,I have about five large tomatoes that are going a bit soft so I might reduce them down to use with my pasta.
I took some Lloyd Grossman smoked bacon pasta mix with me last week, and we had it during the week and I must say I wasn't impressed as it seemed very watery,(good job I had bought it on the offer at 80p as its normally about double that) I wouldn't buy it again though.
I didn't seem to spend a lot on food as we took quite a bit with us so I still have quite a bit of my food money for this month left over:j
Well time to get a shift on and get some cooking on followed by some iroing .Its been a glorious day here in Kent today and the weeds are almost growing as I watch them.
    have a good evening everyone
    Cheers JackieO xx

Ladygrim - take your time. My OH died over 4 years ago and I am still trying to sort things out.

Didn't do a great deal today apart from cut the grass. The weather cheered up here and managed to get all the washing dried including DDs bedding.

Just been given a bottle of wine so will have a glass of that tonight. House quiet, DD gone to cinema. Still BGT on later - always good for a laugh at this stage!

    Enjoy your Saturday evenings all.
