  • Hi
Just wanted to add to my message above, the one on my arm took longer than the one on my cheek to fade, some months but still good. The skin on face seems to heal much faster.

The other thing is that if the mole comes back or doesnt completely go, after 6 months they will do it again for you free of charge as not your fault.
They leave 6 months though for tissue to fully heal.

I understand all your dilemmas and I would be concerned going back just incase it did not come out as well as first time. I was lucky that when taking the risk it came out well. I think it is best for raised moles as can improve profile or ones that are dark as thats where you will notice the improvement.

The first mole is a certain price and then subsequent ones done on the day are much lower, something like £300 then £70 for each. Would need to confirm that.

Just an update on how my moles have healed.

From what I can see, the one on my back hasn't really worked that well and so it will need another go, as it is pretty much the same colour as before, but possibly slightly smaller. (that's if I decide I want to go back)

I then had two raised moles removed which I am happy with because they are now flat, however, there is still a slight brown pigmentation. This may go in time?

Overall 2 out of 3 are ok. I don't think I will be returning anytime soon to have some removed from my face because I would want no noticeable marks. Re: the slight brown pigmentation, I could argue that it is still early days and maybe I shouldn't judge the results for another 4-5 months?
  • Just wanted to add my comments to this.

Came across this website when doing a bit of research on mole removal. I'd already found the Nottingham Laser Clinic website and was trying to find out more about it(particularly the radio surgery method as it claimed to give better results than laser surgery) but couldn't find a great deal of honest (non biased) info other than the comments on this site.

There were some good and not so good reports here but in the end I decided to 'bite the bullet' and go and have a (raised) mole removed from my face a couple of weeks ago.

I have to say that I've been very pleased with the results. The treatment was quick (10 - 15 minutes) and totally painless. I had a scab where the mole had been for around a week or so and now I'm left with a flat area where the mole was and this is slightly more pink in colour than the surrounding skin but seems to be blending in to the rest of my skin colour with each passing day.
Already the difference in skin colour is hardly noticeble and if I were a woman I'm sure that a bit of make up would easily hide any slight difference in colour..... but even I'm not vain enough to start putting make up on - so for now I'll live with a slight difference in skin colour !

I've seen some of the more negative comments here on the Nottingham Laser Clinic and they seem to be less favourable when treating other problems (chemical peels etc) - so maybe the results aren't as good for these types of treatment - or maybe other peoples expectations were too high ..... I don't know - but all I can tell you is my honest opinion of the treatment I had.

So my advice (for what it's worth) is that based on my experience, if you have a raised mole that you want removed, you will see very good results from the Nottingham Laser Clinic. If you are looking for other treatments from them, you may want to ask a few more questions (judging from some of the earlier comments).

Any negatives ? - Only really the cost. £300 is a fair old slice of money for 10 - 15 minutes work. But I suppose you have to put it into context of the end result. I had a raised mole that I'd always been a bit self conscious about and that has now been successfully removed with already little to show that it was ever there and I'm sure this will look even better over the coming weeks and months. Already I feel more confdent about my appearance so for me the £300 was worth it.

Others my feel its too hefty a price to pay but maybe there are other clinics out there who could offer the same treatment for less. The only reason I was drawn to the Nottingham Laser Clinic was because of their boast that they were the only place in the Midlands to use the Radio technology - so if you live in other parts of the country perhaps there are other clinics that will do the same treatment at a lower cost.

Hope this has been useful to anyone thinking of having a mole removed.

I've been reading this post for a while - in fact reading some of the earlier posts gave me the push to finally go and get my moles removed. I went to the Nottingham Laser clinic just over 3 weeks ago and have to say I'm completely thrilled with the results. I've had several moles on my face for most of my life - 2 largish moles and several smaller ones. I bit the bullet and got them all removed and all there is now are some slight pinkish patches which are fading rapidly every day. And to be honest, I think that it already looks a lot better. In all, I had 9 removed from my face and 3 from my back and neck. Like earlier posters, I'd have to agree that the ones on my face have healed better - one on the back of my neck has very slightly scarred but I'm still hoping it improves. Unlike other people, I don't seem to have any problems with pigmentation as of yet and hopefully that won't happen. So, I realise that this sounds like a bit of an advertisement but I'm really pleased that I finally went ahead with it - I already feel so much more confident. They were very professional at the clinic and made the whole thing less of a worry for me, but I think it's probably the radiosurgery technique that made the difference to the end result. My advice is go for it - either at Nottingham or somewhere else. I only regret not doing it before.

Ok - I never post on things like this but I have to defend myself. I am NOT working for Nottingham laser clinic. The only reason I posted anything here was because I know how your confidence can be affected by having moles - it's affected me for years. I really don't appreciate being called a liar. Wishing I'd not posted anything at all now. My advice is still go for it. Probably best not to expect perfection - having said that, mine have turned out really well. I appreciate it may not work as well for everyone but there's no need to get personal about it. I just thought people could do with reading both sides.

Having been very self conscious about 2 moles on my face, I have finally got the courage to have one of them removed at Nottingham. This courage has only been due to the comments that people have made on this site. I go at the weekend and will report back. If I was any braver I would have both of them removed at the same time. Thankyou to people who write about their experiences.

You know what - suit youselves. I'm happy - best thing I did. But I'm finished arguing. Not going to let people I've never met wind me up!
