So these are 5.5cm square.. about 2 1/4 inches square

Should we do an outer border about 3 inches square, 2 stitches thick? I am assuming the Aida/evenweave should be cut to 5 inches square...or a bit bigger??

Sorry for all the questions....just wanting to get things decided so we all do the same thing.

Just read this...I had no idea this is incorrect??? Can someone fill me in please??

clear some PM space Emzy :p

TBH I am completly lost!! I've been asked by various people to justify my actions so here goes:

I thought we'd agreed 5x5, white aida etc so updated the (now crossed out post). Then there was a post saying "can we have a post saying what we have decided, sizes etc" then loads of posts about too many lists and frequant ones asking the things that had been posted in this section and that it was all confusing etc. I assumed (as anyone who reads this thread from MY POINT OF VIEW will see) that what I had done was wrong.

As I said earlier I am just gonna sit back and let you guys make the decisions (tho I do think it might have been nice if people had included Emzy in the planning as she has kindly offered to co-ordinate it).

As nice as it is people took it upon themselves to contact places and people, make the lists etc I feel it is personally REALLY insensitive the way it has been done. It has been making me really not feel like replying as anything I have suggested has been ignored or changed and that one or two people want things their way and are not prepared to shift on that. e.g. the whole 1 colour/ 2 colour thing.

Right thats my piece said, glad I got that off my chest.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

    I am so confused now.

I thought it was great on page one there was a list.

I didn't PM anyone to see what is happening because I thought it was all happening within here. The only time I will PM someone is when it comes to getting the chart - I don't have it. But I thought it was going on a webpage. Confused.

You did a great job chicky - I will go now. Time for dinner - late.

Oh chickywiggle, so sorry you have felt usurped and left out of things...I think that's just that everyone is so enthusiastic about this project. I am sure no-one meant to step on anyone else's toes. Hugs :grouphug: :grouphug:to you and others who feel the need for one.

    Thanks
kezbabybabe, sorry, I didn't know there is a gold border...haven't seen the alphabet close up anywhere yet.

Please don't let this quilt idea break up the happy group of people we have here and on the X-stitch cafe.

  • As kezbabybabe said, i now have the chart, im just waiting for one of the people who said they'd host to come online.

chickywiggle i dont think anyone meant to offend you, just everyone was getting confused with what was happening. Cross-stitching on mse is supposed to be a happy thing, hopefully we can turn this thread around to be the nice friendly thing it was intended to be and avoid treading on each-others toes.

    Hi folks,

I appear to have come in at the end, but if you still need someone to stitch a square, I'd be happy to help. I have the mag with the alphabet in and plenty of white aida/evenweave, but will need to check my threads to see if I've got them all. Just let me know if I'm needed.

Hopefully that is big enough and colourful enough for everyone to notice.

And a big thank you to Dastrophy from dedicatedtv for the hosting.

I think enthusiasm took over, nothing more.

I am grateful that someone is offering to contact companys to try & wrangle some freebies/discounts to achieve this make.
I wanted to join but the thread was all over the shop, no disrespect, that I am glad it's tidy now & all the info seems pretty much in order.

All other swaps ( this is pretty similar in goal ) I have been in the updated info is always in the 1st post so easy to locate & not needing to wade through chit chat etc. Perhaps the OP could copy lists, chart link etc & keep her post with all the latest info updated for reference.

Chickywiggle Ive actually made some space again in my pm box :D

Thanks for coming back on, I think the 5 x5 inch size aida in white is fine...what does everyone else think?

And what would everyone prefer to do colour wise?? Different shades of one colour or all the same colour? We can see what most people would like to do and go with that?

MountainAsh its lovely that you want to join in...we'd all be really happy with that :)

And if there are more people that join I can just do one square so that everyone gets a chance (I only picked 2 as I wasn't sure we'd have enough people)

And a big group hug to everyone :grouphug: lets see if we can get this back on track

Dorastar Could you let me know what the companies say when they get back to you please? And we can sort out getting fabric to everyone. May be a silly question but...is there anyone who DOESN'T want donated fabric?
