She is fine thanks Aless - she takes her bottle whilst siting in her bouncer now which is great and the weaning is going well. She is a little character and loves nothing more than giving all and sundry "kisses" - que slobbering all over everyone - she is gorgeous.

Tia - Who is doing your loft conversion? How much is the actual building work costing?

DH, BIL, FIL a plumber and a joiner. FIL is an electrician, BIL did 3 years as a joiners assistant.

Stairs and velux window is £1210, plumber is £450 for rough work (moving pipes, plumbing for en suite but not fitting it, installing a radiator and moving another). Mates rates :D

Luckily it's an old well built house so the the ceiling joists are more than strong enough to support a floor/conversion and we have old style roof joists which we have just shortened and moved up ourselves (moved up about a foot). All checked over by a joiner/builder. Not through regulations though as the stairs upto the loft are going to be about 5cm too low for head height without moving a window in the hall.

Ah right....thought it sounded really good value.

Hope it all gets done smoothly and quickly:)

Nicki - Sorry to hear about your family not being able to make it over:( Maybe they could come at a later date and you could have a second celebration, I know it wouldn't quite be the same but I bet it would still be nice:)

I have sent off the app form for the 500 maternity grant but not heard back its been weeks now. We had the 190 no problem.

Do we have to wait for baby 2b born?

    Anybody know?

I remember mine took a few weeks, you should get a letter to let you know either way, you dont have to wait till babys born as long as you qualify,

My sis is supposed to be flying into birm on mon i wonder if her flight will be affected?..

    Hope everyone is ok?

I'm really hungry and dont fancy anything that ive got it, contemplating nipping out to get a curry!

    Afternoon all..

Tea and cake afternoon went swimmingly well :D Apart from it starting at 10.30am (friend did always have issues with telling the time :p) and me not having time to finish tidying the house but I don't think anyone noticed too much! :o

We now have a giant Pablo helium balloon in the living room which is about twice the size of Rhys, courtesy of my lovely work colleague ;) Am trying not to eat too much of the remaining cake but it is very yummy :o Someone take it away!

Rhys is sparko with OH and I could do with a little nap too

The report I heard was only airports in the South East, and flights off until Tuesday. So Birmingham should be ok
