    Morning...

Only flicked back a page, no time lately to spend on puter!!!

I got married in 2002 as well:D September, in Cyprus, it was lovely:) (and mega hot!)

Spent aaaaall day at Ikea yesterday got the cot, matress, drawers, 2 bookcases, and some light fixtures and pictures....oh and some kitchen stuff we needed, glasses and plates etc... I was shattered when we got back but still managed to build our new bed which was a dream to sleep on, soooo comfortable:D:D I was aching in every part of my body after we finished though and tbh as soon as dh gets up I might go and lie back down for half an hour as I am still aching a bit today.

J has a school trip next week, spending a night away, he is really looking forward to it....£46 for a one night trip though!!!

Oh and he got his new Orthotic boots, they are great, really nice looking and he says his feet feel much better when wearing them..he also seems to be able to walk for further/longer before complaining about aching legs, so that is a good sign too:)

Am sorting/tidying today as well as hanging pictures, fitting light fixtures, and building bookcases....might try and pop back on when I take a break later.

    Mel x

That's impressive work Mel! Wow :) new beds are so great. 10 months after moving our superking mattress is still on the floor :( cuz the bedframe was creaky and it was annoying, and until recently we felt like the lack of a drop off the side might help preserve E's health. I'd quite like a bed frame now though :/
Bruno I must have missed your announcement but have seen others' comments, but congratulations to you and Mrs Bruno! When is bubs due?

Thanks :) but it is still veeery early non-announcing stage, I only mentioned it here as none of you are real :p she is about 7-8 weeks in.

Hi guys....just wondered if some of you would mind sharing some breastfeeding experiences?

Thomas is 4 days old now and seems to be feeding well. I was giving him both breasts but since my milk came in i just feed him from 1. He usually feeds for about 30mins and i take him off after he's unlatched and been put back on a couple of times. He usually looks really sleepy by this point. Does this sound right?

I think he must be getting enough as I fed him at 1am then he went right through until 7.30! Even then he wasnt at the point where he was crying for it.

ETA through the day he feeds a lot more frequently varying from every 1.5 to 4 hours

The only non creaky squeaky bedframe I've had, and currently still silent and creak free is the malm one from Ikea

I very much enjoyed my 6.25am Alfie-alarm....... because that was his first wake up from going down at 7.50pm woo hoo!!!!!!!!!

I am a happy mummy this morning :D

Enjoy your night away Choppy :)

    Thank you :)

Yay to a brilliant night of sleep. Bet you feel great this morning! We had a 7am Caitlin-alarm, so happy with that.

Hi Mel . You've been a busy bee. Don't go over-doing it.

Gill - I wasn't very good at breast-feeding and stopped just before C was 6 months old, so you'll get better advice from others, but I'd say it sounds like Thomas is getting enough. Howver, there is no harm in offering him the other breast to see if he'll take more.

Tried to ring ex after seeing the Facebook announcement but the line was busy. Went to shower Charlotte and put her to bed and while I was doing that, Josh went on Facebook and saw it.

Got two pretty upset boys here and they both think he should have told them he was engaged before he posted it on Facebook. Yet again, I'm picking up the pieces caused by his stupid behaviour :(
We weren't supposed to have a first dance either but (and I couldn't believe this) the guests were REFUSING TO DANCE until we had danced  Hubby chose a song off the top of his head and came to get me mumbling something about not causing a fuss and trying to enjoy it!! Luckily he chose so well - Have I Told You Lately That I Love You by Van Morrison :D

We had similar. Rather than hire a function room just for our guests in the evening, the hotel said they would put on a communal disco in the main lounge for all the guests in the hotel. There were two other weddings on that day. So the first dance was actually three first dances - one with each couple. We didn't realise that so we just picked Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong at the last minute but it worked really well

We left some of our cake cut up on one of our lounge tables for our guests to eat and two little girls from one of the other weddings came over and politely asked if they could have a slice so I said yes. They'd been to the other wedding party as well and sampled their cake and annouced that mine was the nicest :rotfl:

I'm still mulling over the wedding thing.. I know I don't want a huge do, but I don't really know what I do want, iykwim

Run away to Gretna Green. We had a fab weekend with just close friends and family. I had the big white wedding thing first time around and didn't like it, but loved the informal wedding we had at Gretna.

Everyone got there on the Friday and we went to a local pub for a meal and drinks, then went back to the hotel. Some stayed in the bar for more drinks, and others drifted off to bed when ready. We didn't marry until 4pm, so in the morning most of us went in the hotel leisure club and played in the pool with the bairns, and there was a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room too. Others went for a walk and the oldies sat and read the papers in a big conservatory looking out over the gardens. The hotel didn't do lunch but said we could bring food in, so we just went to a local shop and bought a selection of sandwiches and stuff and had a sort of picnic in the lounge.

Everyone got ready in the afternoon. The hotel had a hairdresser so all the ladies had their hair done and she did my make up as well. Got married at 4pm in the Old Blacksmiths Forge - very romantic.

The hotel had fabulous gardens so everyone came back to the hotel and we had photographs taken in the gardens. We had a formal sit down meal at 6pm which was lovely. Then the disco started in the lounge and everyone wandered through there and people drifted off to bed when ready. The disco went on till 1am and us hardcore party goers were dancing until it finished!

Had a leisurely breakfast on the Sunday and everyone went home. Loved it
Here I go again on my own....

Also, Gill, yay to getting so much sleep at the moment...I don't want to put a dampner on it but make the most of it in case it doesn't last. Building up reserves now will help on the not-so-good nights.

    Morning all x

Went to the theatre last night to see "A Chorus Line" Jamie Lomas (married to Kim Marsh and was Warren in Hollyoaks) is the lead and he was very good and nice to look at too :D Very :money: seats as I am a member of the our lowry club (I have a Salford postcode) I get texts which tell me about offers and the seats were £5 for the stalls. My mum looked online and the cheapest price she could see if we'd booked them direct was £37!!!

SJ, I've just been looking at your website and I may be calling on you for a cake for my mum who's 50 in October, I'll pm you later if that's ok? Am on the iPhone and it will be much easier on the pc.

Sounds perfectly normal to me and much like Finn's early days (except for the sleeping :p). I wouldn't get too comfortable as he's still in the very-sleepy-newborn phase which will end verrrrry soon. ;)

    Gill congratulations!!!

I would say it sounds as though Thomas is getting enough too, but no harm in offering him the other side. Also make sure you alternate which side you start on (although I'm sure you know this already as the unused side would be ready to burst before long otherwise!)

Also, again as Choppy said, make the most of the sleep now as it might not last. Alfie was jaundiced for a couple of weeks which made him sleepy and so fed less frequesntly until that cleared up.

I do feel good, but I did wake just after 6 as my boobs were so full! Funny as that's only half an hour after he woke up yesterday but they seemed loads fuller. Gives me confidence that he might start fully sleeping through soon though. Yey!
