weezl, wilkinsons near me have a cheap snuggle nest of some sort at half price (it's £5 from memory). Didn't look properly to see if it was adjustable or even if you think it would help? Can't see it on their site. Let me know if ya want me to look again tomoz.
Yay's for Jack and Alex (I hope I got the name right Lolly or made that up?)for Bum shuffling.
Can't remember much else apart from some teeth somewhere?
Oh, Fitz (I think - not good at remembering things!)I text NMS on Wed but haven't had a reply. Don't know her well enough to call her so hope she's ok. Is anyone her face book friend?
Hugs to all, bedtime for C, back soon xxxMy baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil0 -
awww Tia thats crap no wonder your having a bad day
i know what you mean about trying to help out and always being the one who looses out! we have had this on various occasions and now i have given up with it all. good news on the wages though!
Tara does he not get a scribe for his exams? just thinking if he can get the important things out they could write it down? what about an appeal for his exams? if he can do well and his problems are with the writing then they should make an allowance? i can find out more as my dad is a teacher and is now working more on the special needs/learning and behavioural sideWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
Thank-you, I'm out in Exeter tomorrow so will try there. X
Had some pants news today, DS1 got his 1st lot of results for Science, all 3 multiply choice he got C's which is fantastic, but the papers where he had to write answers he got an E and 2 U's. What do they expect, he knows what he wants to say but can't write it down, all his exams will be the same!My sister has this exact problem - does he have any one to one support?
My sister needs things explaining to her cos she doesn't understand the written wordYes, he gets support and a reader in exams, but he has never been able to put what he wants to say into words, comes out in complete nonsense. And terrible handwriting!Mental maths he's top of the year, nearly 200 pupils, but that doesn't help him in exams as he doesn't know how he worked it out!
Tia, what happened with your parents, did I miss that, sorry!
Tara, was just going to suggest what Glam said but I see he has help. DD gets someone to read things to her and a scribe to write things down or an Alphasmart board thingy.
She 'beyond brilliance' apparently in ICT but can't 'hear' things that are spoken or take in and retain written information.0 -
That's crap Tia, I'm so sorry *hugs you*

Weezl - Kai was/is a side sleeper, I just wedged him with rolled up blankets and teddies low enough so they wouldn't go up near his face, but so he was wedged sort of belly area. Jaden was a tummy sleeper!!!! Only Luca has slept on his back as a baby, he used to lie flat out, legs spread, arms up in the air....
I am also sad SM hasn't been posting, I didn't join in with the 'debate' as I have my own problems at the moment, but I know where she is coming from, and tbh, coming from a similar background I am STILL trying to become qualified and get a career that is worthy of a decent salary and job prospects.....it is very, very hard when you haven't had the same opportunities as others and they have lived comfortably at home (or even away) being supported and encouraged by loving parents, and you wonder why your parents couldn't have done the same, and ensured you had a good start in life in which to be able to fully support yourself and raise a family without being made to feel like a second class citizen! (not saying that people on here do that) but also I am sure SM would never begrudge anyone talking about there successes and acheivements, it is actually, sometimes, inspiring to read about them and feel that maybe one day you could also be writing similar things about yourself......
I am 30 and dh is 37 and we are still not there yet, he actually came from a far worse upbringing(if you can even call it that) than me, he is trying his best and hopefully will get there in the end, but at the moment things aren't going to plan and I can see he is falling into a depression (despite being on medication) and I don't know what to do because I haven't got the strength at the moment to support him, and all I feel like doing is packing my bags and running away.....
Anyway sorry that turned into a big ramble, possibly incoherant, but I also think that SM 'knows' what needs doing and doesn't need everyone jumping on her over one comment she made. I don't think for one second, she meant that she wished everything would fall into her lap, or that she thought for a second that other people had been handed there well paid jobs on a plate....I also think that getting a driving license is perfect and will give her a confidence boost, if nothing else...I probably have loads more to say and loads of advice I can give, as I can relate to her situation probably better than a lot of posters on here....But I won't.....
On that note I am going to put my whingy baby to bed:)
Back soon xxUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
I was actually gonna have 'Canon in D Major' as walk down the aisle music, what do you think SS?
Is that by Pachelbel? I've got that as my ringtone as I love that piece of music
*hugs* to all who need them.
Exam wasn't too bad. I managed to answer all the questions and threw in loads of theorists and models so hopefully that was enough to pass. Feel much more confident about than the other one.
It was freezing though. I was near the external door which didn't shut properly and the air con was above blowing cold air. Only had a short sleeved top on and got a bit shivery by the end
So that's the manic uni pressure over and I'm just on the one course now. I'm a bit behind on it and need to do some catching up. I've read chapter 1, but I need to study chapters 2-4 and apply the theory to a case study to write an assignment by the 12th May. Next assisgnment isn't due until mid June, but we are on holiday from the 24th May, so I'd like to try and study the rest of the book and get that submitted before our holidays. We come back a few days before a big group project starts, so I'd like to get sorted and prepared for that rather than trying to rush an assignment. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Evening everyone. havent managed to get on since the other night but thanks for all the welcomes everyone!
Had a bit of a read through and though it worth mentioning DS always been a side sleeper and hes always been fine, when he was little we would swaddle him up but he would still manage to roll over, i think if they seem comfortable and are safe and you can hear them e.c.t then its fine, all babies are different after all.
Health visitor came today to do 18month check (though hes nearing 20 now but nvm) shes coming back in 4 months cos he isnt speaking yet, well he says dada and ta when he feels like it. But im not worried about him at all he understands loads and has great concentration hes just developing at a slower rate, they asked me loads like Does he put things in the bin for you when you ask? Can he walk down the stairs? Does he read books? bloody annoying really what kids his age can walk down stairs! and as for bins no chance id let him near hed just want to get inside ha! he loves books but wont sit stll with them he likes to look at pages sporadically and sometimes eat them ha o well!
mini rant but never mind!0 -
