If you are looking at buying a fiesta avoid the 1.3 Endura engines as they aren't as reliable as the 1.25, 1.4 ... Zetec engines (my brother works in the trade and thats what he told me!)

I know time has really flown by , its difficult to know how to celebrate a 1st birthday IMO as they are so young to remember anything , How are you planning to celebrate his birthday ? ( if you dont mind me asking :o)

I think it will be a small family party, plus a couple of weekend trips to visit grandparents (which you have to do around birthdays!) As you say, he's far too young to understand what's going on.

Beenie, im saying i passed in May 2010 (because thats likely to be when i pass in 2011) and im starting the insurance from July 2010.
Saying im married, my age, Address, No claims, full UK license, 3rd party fire and theft and then the car details (im finding ones on auto trader lol)

I give up now. BIL, who is an expert at looking for car insurance apparently, is going to look for me later :D
Have you checked the comprehensive price as apparently sometimes that works out cheaper? Mine was £1200 the first year which I think would be around £1600 now taking inflation into account. I was 23, had a brand new Nissan Micra and had a minor accident about ten weeks earlier (but had had a full license for 6 years).

It's always worth tinkering with little details - when my brother moved house he tried keeping the car in the garage, on the drive and on the road and in the garage was more expensive than on the drive. Also you can add someone as a named driver without them needing to actually use the car or anything. Although being married I don't know whether it would help as I know the year before we married, the cheapest out of me on my own, me plus OH, me plus my mum, and me plus both was me plus both but when I came to get quotes the next year, the cheapest I could get was me plus OH and adding my mum made it more xpensive.

I know this is old but I didn't catch up properly and just searched for my name. The link just took me to a login page so I couldn't see anything.

Yes when I searched for car insurance for DH, going fully comp was actually much cheaper than just F&T. It also weirdly brought the premium DOWN slightly to add me (with a mystical provisional license) as a named driver! (we didn't actually do this, I was just experimenting with quotes at the time)

You guys were chatty this afternoon!

Bruno, your description of floor cleaning might as well be our whole flat. Shame, laziness, guilt, and then incompetence all rolled into one. :p
