They've made it so lone parents can't claim income support after child is 4.

I've always thought that should be the case tbh, it wasn't long ago it was 12!

In 2002 when I claimed, it was when the youngest left full time education, so 16-18! James was 3 then and they though I was mad for looking for a job and kept telling me I could stay home.

Pleased Health in Pregnancy has gone as I thought the principle of it was a bit stupid. If you've had a life of junk food, you're not going to suddenly say at 25 weeks pregnant, "oooh I've got £190, I think I'll treat myself to a bag of apples"!

Sure Start only being paid once makes sense too as most baby stuff can be resused for additional children. My Mam still has my old cot and all my babies have slept in it when she's looked after them for me!

Don't think our tax credits will be affected too much as we're quite a way under the new threshold. Pleased as I do rely on the income and it would have messed my personal budget up if they'd been taken away.
Just popping in quickly, bad times at home right now so taking Keira to my mums for a bit.

I noticed some of my old stretchmarks seem to have split open and are weeping  Is that normal?!

Hope you are ok Buttons and get your home life sorted out. I'd get those stretchmarks checked out at the doctors just to be on the safe side. Thinking of you xx

In other news, my sister phoned me a few hours ago and informed me she is getting married next august in Gretna Green:D:D And she has asked me to be a bridesmaid:D:D

    Yay - congrats xx

It's a lovely place to get married. If she wants any recommendations, let me know!

Been so hot here today. Boot camp was really tough this evening and she worked us hard. I've got jelly legs again :o
Here I go again on my own....

Isla's in bed, hopefully that's her for the night now. Whispers *she's been sleeping 8.30 to 8am with no feeds in the night for the last week* It just seems to have progressed from her having a few night feeds to deciding she wants to sleep through again. Now that I've said it out loud it'll all go wrong tonight :o

Som I've just seen your questions when KOAG quoted you, do you still carry T in the sling at all? There are some details of babywearing using the same muscles as tummy time so it helps baby develop here (right at the bottom of the page)

One of the midwives commented on Isla crying real tears when she was about 18 hours old. I had no idea what she was on about as thought 'well if she's crying of course there are tears!' :rotfl::o

JM I hope Jakes ok (((hugs))) for you and him.

OH went to asda while I bathed and fed Isla, I came down and there's a gorgeous orchid sat infront of 'my' spot on the sofa so I went out to thank him and give him a kiss.

It's not for me! :p It's for his driving instructor because he passed his test last week!

EA, what friend is it giving you hassle on facebook? Is it that 'ohhhh lily will have bandy legs if you leave her in a bouncer, like omg!' one?

Cos I don't like her at all.....
  • ((HUGS)) to buttons. Hope you can relax and take stock at your mums for a while.

I didn't get home until 6.45pm this evening after being called to an emergency meeting at 5.30pm (good job hubby could pick Benjamin up) only to be told that I may have another year of uncertainty with my job (renewing my contract at 3 or 6 monthly intervals). I am seriously considering jacking...

Anyway - got home, Benjamin threw himself at me, pulled on my trousers/top until I got on the floor and then piled on top of me laughing his head off :rotfl::rotfl:
We went for a bath and the cheeky little monster was squirting water from his squirters into his mouth and then swallowing and going 'aaaahhhhh' I swear I have a little comedian on my hands!

    Makes my life worthwhile :A

Could Isla have a word with Henry please? We have gone seriously backwards recently and now tend to have at least two feeds a night :o.

EA if the story about your friends baby is true it's really sad :( :j for the free blender! When are you planning to start weaning?

Kindof I meant to say the other day, never saw the convo on you weaning E but good for you doing what's right for you and your baby  I must admit I have given Guy a bit of a suck on strawberry, watermelon & sweet potato already :o He seems to love it and I've seen no ill effects.

Not to sure when to start really, she's on 8ozs of milk now and is always eyeing our food with a very hungry look in her eye.
But i tried her with some baby rice and although she took it very well (actually she loved it! Never seen the girl look so happy to be given food lol) later that day she was crying really badly.
Next day i tried her again, and she cried later on again.

So i didn't give her any today and she hasn't been crying (except for now as she doesn't want to lay down to have her bottle :rotfl:)

So although she's ready in some ways, in others she's not ready.

She has had a small bit of cream from my strawberrys and ice cream and she loved it! I also dip her dummy into something im eating if its bland, and although nothing is on the dummy, the flavour is there and she loves it :D

Our kitchen is now Magnolia! It was a dirty white when we moved in, and we never changed it. But to save them trying to take more of our deposit we are just painting over it anyway.
At least the new tenants will move into a fresh painted house :D

so far I'm liking what I hear, well what I understand :p not up to parental benefits yet!
I think we might be ok though, they seem to think we are low enough earners to not be mean to us

You talking about the budget? I agree with you, I like what I see at the minute

They arent going to shaft me like they did my mam last time they were in power

Apart from not increasing the CHB

I agree with the surestart and HIP going though, as harsh as it sounds a lot of chavs have like loads of kids to get the money

Totally agree Emma, once the children are in school full time the parents should work

I am lucky that once E is that age I can change my part time (I am going to do 3 days a week) to term time only and I am going to work from 9.30-2.45 for five days a week

Sami - The State Pension will go up at least 2.5% like it does every year, where does it say about them goign down (SP is my job, sadly lol)

Glam I didnt I spend mine on health I spent it on a 4d scan :o

Ok there is too much to catch up on lol and I am off to bed in a min, night
