MFD - Yay for fork wielding Benjamin, I think! :rotfl:
Must start getting Jack to use a spoon really.
I found that just loading a spare spoon up with mash or whatever and letting him have a go without any fuss was the best way....
((HUGS)) 3 - hope that the SW does something for you. And I hope V is okay - cheeky little girlie!!
When we were in the car today Benjamin kept shouting Mamma!! Mamma!! Mamma!! and when I turned around to see what he wanted he blew a huge raspberry in my face :rotfl::rotfl:cheeky little monkey!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Thanks boo and MFD. To be honest I'm quite happy to just go for it but my bloody mother keeps harping on about wanting to give him rusks and "purees were ok for you" type talk  (I really miss that smiley btw!)
Ha I went to the shop for DH's father's day sweets for his jar but a) I didn't get enough and b) didn't matter anyway as the jar is full! So he just has a jar of a random number of sweets! Plus a book and a card!0 -
3 - do you think the fact that he's actually broken them will make him less inclined to do it or will he carry on regardless?
I'm not sure! After smashing the door windows in Mums during half term week, I think the sound of breaking glass has excited him. I put the microwave on earlier and he came down (as he does - he has to stop it at 2 seconds!) and I said don't touch! He didn't, and went back upstairs. **confused smiley** But he had to kick the dishwasher and bathroom doors on his way - as he does.
Searchie Pee on a stick!
V is still down here, ripping the newspaper tv magazine to shreds!:beer:0 -

Benjamin is too cute.
MFD probably is that cheeky!
And earlier today, my Mum was trying to sell Slimming World to me and tempting me with recipies! Cheeky mare!:beer:0 -
SJ- we have done primarily BLW/finger foods with some wet foods like porridge, pasta in sauce, yogurts, stewed apple type things. That wasn't particularly my intention, but it's worked out that way and H seems happy enough. Family have just accepted that H has a try of whatever everyone else is eating, whether that be cheese, garlic bread, potato, whatever. I've tried to be very laid back about it and I think that has helped everyone else be the same. FWIW rusks are the messiest thing in the world (alongside weetabix). They go everywhere once sucked and dry like concrete, so if your mum really wants A to have them, then do it at her house :rotfl:.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

gisi on the rusks i totally agree but they're jayden favourite esp the banana ones

I would just tell him that there is a significant number of sweeties in there (and then eat a handful so he can't count)
I attended a BLW Seminar when Benjamin was 17 weeks and I asked questions about how other people approached it with their families. We had really interesting discussions about how to say what you want to do without saying that any other way is 'wrong' or 'bad' or whatever and we also spoke about not calling it BLW (which I still think is pretentious LOL!!) and just saying that we were giving him finger foods.
In the end I found the nod and smile and do what the eff you want to be the best route
Edit - I would have a good look at a rusk packet before you let A have any.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
